Hi everyone. I havent been here for a while due to work and things :(
Anyways, I was just posting to ask how many people here have Paypal accounts? I just need to setup a way of accepting payments quickly without too much hassle and paypal seems easy enough. I have experience with buying things from ebay with paypal, but never selling. I just want to see how popular it is in these boards.

Do a search, it's been asked and answered a million times. The general consensus is to use a service like Plimus, eSellerate or RegNow to process payments and deliver products for you. PayPal is used as a secondary method at most.

I use plimus, but posted a link to my regnow account in my forums purely because they take paypal and it was requested by my customers. Plimus really need to take paypal...

We are the worst people to ask. We are not your potential customers. We are more clued up, more savvy, have more chances of owning online accounts.
Common sense.

I'm sure he meant how many devs here use paypal as a means to accept payments.

One of my clients pays me through Paypal. Haven't had a problem with it so far. But then, that's a client, not a customer...

Yeah I use it for ebay but thats it. We give our customers the option of purchasing via PayPal but no one has done so yet.

I use paypal as a secondary processor and I get a regular stream of orders through it.

I got something like 5 people since my release in April that really, really wanted to use PayPal. These are the people who say something to me before giving up on the order process, so I figure there must be some larger number of lost sales from not offering PayPal. In general, it seems like you can never offer enough payment options to make everyone happy. Especially those Europeans. So I'm going to start accepting orders through BMT Micro as a backup along with Plimus. BMT Micro does a pass-through thing to PayPal. They also take cash and have some other payment options Plimus doesn't.
I wish Plimus would just offer some better payment options for Europeans. The kind that don't have credit cards, I mean. :)

We use Paypal but poor sales are forcing us into something more inline with other shareware developers.

PayPal, Credit Card, and Cheque/Money Order here.
CustomBar customers are split roughly 50/50 on PayPal and CC.
