paying for ads

Hi there,

Assuming I make a suitable ad banner, whats the best places and prices for displaying it? for example sites to attract customers and reasonable rates to expect to pay?

And have your own endevours been successful? I only want to hear replies from people who have actually used ad banners or been involved with them (cut down signal/noise ratio)

I use 120x120 ads for Dope Farmer...
I think that square ads are more effective than banner ads, but that may only be avaliable in the types of places that fit my particular niche.

I've had good success in numerous places, but I also tried a lot of places and did not see many results.

Advertising on the low end is usually $100-200/month...sometimes you need to get a custom solution as most are catered toward higher earning companies.
