Where's the best place to put a portal's logo for a smooth approval? A two second full screen as the game starts, or in the corner of the main title page? Suggestions appreciated.

AFAIK most portals want their logo everywhere yours is.

That is my understanding.

Our games always have a full screen splash screen with our logo and our logo is in the corner of the main menu. When we make version of the game for the portals we add another splash screen with the portal's logo and we add their logo to the opposite corner of the main menu screen. But if your game doesn't put the developer log on the main menu then you probably don't have to worry about portal logos going there.

James is right, it's about grouping logos together.
If your logo is in the splash sequence, then the other logos should be there as well. If your logo is in the main menu, that's where the other logos go.

The challenge comes when there are quite a few logos to deal with.
There's usually at least 2: the developer and the distributor/portal.
But there might also be a publisher as well.

Here's a solution that I find particularly tasteful and effective.
A single splash screen with 2 or 3 logos stacked vertically on top of each other. (rather than subsequent splash screens that users just click past)

Developed by:
[[ developer logo ]]
Presented by:
[[ portal logo ]]

Although some portals may require that their logo goes on top.

And if you are getting distribution on a portal through a publisher, then it might look like this:

Presented by:
[[ portal logo ]]
Developed by:
[[ developer logo ]]
Published by:
[[ publisher logo ]]

If a developer presents things this way, then I don't mind if the main menu only has the developer logo. The 'logo placement gods' have been appeased by the splash sequence, so then the main menu could just have the dev logo.
But then that's for Oberon's channel network, I can't speak for other portals.
