Hi guys. I was wondering if you could help me. I've just been asked for the following.
"please send a press kit with: evaluation copy, screenshots, press backgrounders, and any other information you have available."
When these guys ask for a press kit do they expect a CD to come through the mail? Also can you tell me what a press backgrounder is?

Basically send them some info about your game, a demo or full version (doesnt have to be on CD, download should be fine), and some screen shots.

I was just asked the same thing, exact words and all. Probably from the same place. :)

What they are looking for is a link to download the game (you should ask if they PREFER a CD, the answer will probably be no), and a zip file with screenshots.
A Press Backgrounder refers to a document file that tells them about your company and your product in general and in technical terms.
For instance some things this should have are:
Your company's mission statement as it relates to this product,
The Reason for this product's creation (and why it will be successful),
The Features of this product,
How the product was created (technically),
A summarry.
Take a look at google for a variety of press backgrounder examples.

Might I also add that you should include key points of the game, especially any finer points that you might not get without playing ever facet of the game and including codes on how the reviewer can play different areas of the game is always a plus.

Who asked it? Its not like an e-mail is protected by an NDA.
I may be able to shed some light on it :-)
