Just want to ask for your opinions about gamesbanner.net. I think it's good for driving visitors to your website, but on the other hand you'll probably loose visitors that click on the banner at your page.
It's also possible that your visitors thinks it's not professional if there is a banner on your site, isn't it?
What do you think? What is your experience with gamesbanner.net?

I bought some banner impressions on it. You can buy impressions instead of trading. I was happy with the click through rate etc...

The regular price used to be in the $2 CPM range. But you can by it as cheap as 50 cents if you are well connected in the Russian gamedev community - people trade impressions on a monthly basis.
You can also advertise on GameXtazy.Com - it's dirtcheap (for a reason)

Both GameXtazy and GameBanner.Net are run by Alawar - they are professional, well-known and very easy to work with.

But instead you get visitors from other good game sites. And they could be more interested in your products and be ready to obtain them than your visitors :)
And as it was said before you can buy impressions without placing GBN code on your site.
It's also possible that your visitors thinks it's not professional if there is a banner on your site, isn't it?
-------------------
1. Our GBN code is 100x100
2. We have only game sites in GBN and our members advertise games there.
And when visitors come to site and see 100x100 game banner there they think it to be the inner advertising and click on it very often. WE have a very good CTR in GBN - 2% -3% :)

Cost Per Mille (per 1,000 impressions)

CPM is cost per thousand impressions. So if you get 2% CTR, it means you get
20 clicks per 1000 impressions. And if you pay 60 cents per 1000 impressions (which seems to be the going price now), your cost per click would be 3 cents - much cheaper than google or overture. But you won't get 2-3% CTR unless you've worked with banners before - it does take some testing to create a banner that will get people clicking. I think 0.7-1.7% is probably more realistic for the first time effort.
Anyhow, that's not the most important statistics. What's important is how well that traffic will convert. Never talked to anybody who tracked GBN traffic conversion and don't think that any people bothered with that. But that's something that you really should do. Because if it converts well, you can buy a lot of traffic from GBN and network participants. If it does not, you can allocate your marketing budget to other resources. But with prices this low, you really ought to try it. Just a few months ago they charged a lot more.

Folks, you are confusing everybody with your terminology (it's probably a typo anyway).
CPM stands for COST, not clicks. Your CPM is $0.60
CTR stands for CLICKS (click through rate)
