July 26, 2004 - (West Sussex, UK) – Hanako Games (www.hanakogames.com) announced today that they have completed and released Pentagraph, an exciting combination of word puzzle and role playing game. Take control of a humble student of magic trying to save the school master, captured and being held deep in the depths of the school’s dungeon. Battle your way through dozens of enemies by solving five letter word puzzles, gain and use items to aid your combat, and find secret words that send any monster running in fear.

Each fight in the game takes place by displaying a jumble of letters and a riddle with a five letter word missing, replaced by its dictionary definition. You must solve the riddle by spelling the correct five letter word before the monster reaches your character. Pentagraph will hone your vocabulary skills and spelling skills, while providing hours of entertainment for all ages. With hundreds of different riddles to solve and two skill levels this game will keep you coming back for more.

Pentagraph, like all Hanako Games, uses an anime style feel and an intuitive game design, making the game easy to learn for any age. With multiple difficulty levels, this bold new game can be enjoyed by teens and pre-teens while still providing a challenge for the most educated adult.

Hanako Games blends their anime artwork and games with a “fun for all ages” style of game design. You can download Pentagraph and all of their other games for free from www.hanakogames.com.

I like this press release. I tried writing one myself recently and found it impossibly hard. I guess I should get someone else to do it for me.

Anyway I see on the hanako website that this new game is not being pushed hard as the latest, newest game. Any reason or is it just a matter of time ? :)

... cause I suck at marketing and haven't figured out yet how I want to redo the site again? :) Will probably reformat everything again by next week, when I have to be blind for a while to get some new glasses made...

Umm - Terin didn't make the game...

This is why the press releases should really have no mention (or a very small mention) of vgsmart. If you do a press release through dp-directory or another service the release is made to look like it's directly from your company and the service name is kept out of it completely.

Hm, I didn't see anything in the press release about vgsmart, except at his signature.

It mentions several times it's from Hanako Games in the release itself...

@Papillon
You might want to put up a "News" section on your website, so you can post the announcements there.

Gah! I take it all back. You're right. It's totally fine. I just looked at one of his release mailings and it's just the same as dp and the others do. My mistake.

Sure, hate me then love me then hate me... I can't take this emotional roller coaster!

The only time my company name appears in a press release are on forums in my signature. Perhaps its because I have a Machiavellian scheme on dominating the world... or perhaps its because im too lazy to change my signature on every forum.

Anyway, check out Georgina's game, it's pretty innovative... Im still proud to have scored a 720 verbal on my SAT in highschool all those years ago.
