My wife came down with a sore throat thursday, and stayed home from work friday. In between buying her ice cream and watching TV with her, I got a LOT of coding done!
Now it's Saturday, and I'm coming down with it myself. But I'm still smoking the keyboard, hoping to get one last feature in before I'm just too sick to think straight. :)
It reminds me that I wrote the basic version of Axellus over one night when I had too much back pain to sleep.
Am I unique? How does sickness affect your work habits?

hehe...
I experience the same effect when I'm sick. I don't eat, don't watch TV, take an Advil and go code.

I've been sick this week. Played World Of Warcraft 95% of the time. Productive? Of course! I started a hunter from scratch, and he's up to level 12 already!

It depends on the illness but generally sick = depressed = no work done.

Being sick is the best time to code... especially if you have a job and are a part-time indie gamer: you get paid for doing your game ;)

actually, being sick and depressed makes me want to code. It makes me feel better and gives me a sense of pride&self-value.

Darn....I am a bit like Lizardsoft in this department!! When I get sick, I am usually better off in bed, resting and wiping my nose!! Yuck... :(

I find it far too hard to code while sick. My brain doesn't like too much thinking. Likewise I find it hard to read. TV is about the only thing I can do.
Although I try to go through some of the less-cerebral activities to do with creating my game. Such as making levels.

You read WAY too much into his statement... he said making (not designing) his (not yours) levels.
Relax. :) We have a good community here... let's try to keep being nice to one another.

I feel having un-interrupted blocks of time helps me code better; I'm able to get into a "groove". Could be the same thing for you ...
If I do code while ill, I just make sure I have plenty of tissue near by to keep my screen clean! (AHH-AHH-CHOO!! <wipe><wipe>) ... :D
