Is there a lot of developers who have received someone elses sales reports?

yes. Several developers received more info than they should have.

yes. Several developers received more info than they should have.

Well, it might help in market research I guess :)

It was an accident that happened only once. I am sure they are going to make sure it will never happen again.

Hey, I'm don't have anything on that portal (or any portal at the moment) but feel free to send me some sales data if it's going spare ;)

I'm pretty sure your kidding sharpfish, but the right thing to do in this situation is throw BFG a bone and try to minimize the issue. They accidentally released what could be considered confidential information. Yes they messed up, but lets not try and make it any worse for them. I know several independants who make a nice income in that channel I see no reason to try and make their business harder for them then it already is.

I'm pretty sure your kidding sharpfish, but
There's a trace of truth in every joke.

Personally, I wouldn't mind taking a looksy at some leaked information, it probably wont help me in any way, and I don't see how it would hurt the developer, it just would be interesting.

All im saying is that if someone shoved it in my face, I wouldn't close my eyes on it. :)

Fair enough, but if get's posted here I'm going to nuke it.

Yes, of course I was joking. :)

As dima said though, it is due to that kind of "if it's there it may be an interesting read" kind of thing that I made the joke. I didn't expect for one minute to get any data from anywhere, and I certainly wouldn't want anyone to go posting someone elses confidential information. That would be way out of order.

cheers

Of course if my PM box suddenly starting ringing, I would be very grateful and you know what they say about treating everyone nice on the way up :)

One thing that is quite in the portals favour right now is the NDA, because that IMHO, only protects the portal.

I wouldn't count on anyone sending you any other company's sales data. If anyone does then let me know, because it's someone who I'd never want to do business with.

I don't want it, I am just being cheeky.

Morally, it's very wrong. What if MY sales data got out, what then? I would be counting on my peers to do the right thing.
