After seeing the 1st trailer (http://www.apple.com/trailers/miramax/sin_city/), the film became a MUST SEE for me (the music in the clip is too cool!)

When I found out it was based upon some graphic novels, and feeling that the book is usually better the the movie, I went and bought the ones the stories in the movie are taken from ... can't wait to see it all up on the screen.

After "Skycaptain and the World of Tomorrow" I'm extremely wary of any movies that use so much CG. Hopefully this movie won't be as bad but the few previews I've seen don't inspire a lot of confidence.

I wasn't too set on seeing Sin City, but hey, if it's even a fraction as good as Sky Captain, I'm there. Yes, I know the plot in Sky Captain is somewhat formulaic, and the acting was a mixed bag, but it was huge fun to just wallow in the visuals. :cool:

Sin City is a top notch comic novel. I mean really fucking stylish and dripping with attitude. Ive got no doubt in my mind that the movie will be a let down by comparison, as always.
It would be virtually impossible to convey what the novel does using film... however, I really really really hope im completely wrong and the film is excellent. :)

I got the impression from the trailer that the movie existed just to show of it's cool stylishness with real actors and 99% computer graphics. I didn't actually see a story in the trailer, which leads me to wonder if there's any real story at all.. and if it's any good.

It's 3 stories intermixed that share some of the same characters. The hard goodbye, the Big Fat Kill and that Yellow Bastard.

I don't go to the movies searching for enlightenment (that's what Steve's blog is for), I go to be entertained. So, if CG+half naked girls give me my ticket's worth of entertainment, I'm all for it.

I enjoyed XXX and I'm not embarrased to admit it. I'll go see Blade III next week - although I know it will suck as a movie, I'm also quite sure it will be 2 hours of fun. I don't expect a Wesley Snipes performance worth an oscar, but why should I care, as long as I have fun?

Sin City has a story though (3 to be exact). and they are damn good :) So in this case he does no wrong ;)

You're right... with "sucking as a movie" I meant "the acting will be bad, the plot will be thin or ridiculous", that kind of thing. Which doesn't mean I won't enjoy the overall experience! I love seeing explosions in a big screen :)

I believe I represent the market of male customers.. We should all learn from movie industry how we can make it happen with our games :D
Btw, sin city comes from a comic/graphic novel and I think the halfnaked girls in this movie don't serve the same purpose as B class horror movies, it's just the way the story is.

Eventhough hollywood makes bad comic movies, I just can't wait to watch Fantastic 4 (another movie with alba in it) and Batman...
