I wanted to do it long time ago... I'm not sure how to proceed with it, though and if it will be legal (oh yeah, I suspect somebody will not like that his screenshot is included).

Basic idea - I'm posting a picture with 10 small parts of screenshots from casual games.
Everybody has 1 day to send me a PM with the names of all games.
Hope nobody will hijack the thread by posting answers right here.
Next day I'm posting stats of correct answers for every person and making sort-of "TOP" :)

Hope it'll be fun!

This time I wanted to start with Puzzle genre.

I just want to hear if anybody is excited about it and has any objections to making big picture with screens of different games from different companies.

If somebody will complain about anything in this screenshot, admins could always close the thread and kill me :)

Do not hijack the guesses by posting answers here.
And yes, I guess at least 2 pictures here will be hard to guess so you might ask for a hint but I'll answer it only if it'll be a really hard one ;)

I thought it might be easy for me... but I only know 4 i can name straight off and a few more i can recognize but forget the names to. Tough.

That's the point, Svero!

I recently found some old (96?) magazine with "guess a name" contest of (now old) PC games. 9 years ago I marked only half of them. I've marked all other now except quests. I don't like quest games. But since they came into emulation field of visibility (I don't like to accept SCUMMVM as an emulator since it's not, but it's covered by almost every emulation news site), I started to see screenshots of old quest games and remember their titles :)

I only recognize 1 off the bat, and 4 others have a familiarity to them I can't pinpoint. Argh!

not bad ... I got 8 out of 10. Game 2 and 3 tripped me up.

This round sure isn't over yet, but I wonder if anybody will want to be a volunteer for the next genre? I want to GAG too :)

Bluesnews.com had posted a link to a site that had a classic games guessing game. There were like 50 of them. (This same site had other guessing games too like company logos.) I can't find the link at the moment, though, but it was pretty damn good.

Yikes. I think 'Gag' was certainly the right name for it, as I gag trying to figure out what we've got here.

1) Super Groovy - in-game tile
2) Adventure Inlay - elephant which eats your unused parts
3) Cubis - part of the logo (several persons guessed that part!)
4) Big Kahuna Reef - sack and time indicator
5) AstroPop - field piece with brick and multi explosion
6) Collapse Crunch - bomb from the first level (in the very center)
7) Rocket Mania - dragon
8) Mad Caps - alien cap
9) Puzzle Station - game play
10) Twisty Tracks - game play


And the winner is Bmc who guessed 8/10 (almost 9!) games!
I guess you could use this screenshot as a test for Producer ;)


I hope someone will continue gag :)
