I know a lot of people here (including me) were pretty optimistic when Grab.com launched with a dedicated Indie channel. Obviously it's skewed towards casual games, but still it was nice to see a fairly big outfit give Indie games a venue with little restrictions.
However, it seems during the past couple of months, the Indie channel is getting less and less attention from the Grab.com staff (which some people here predicted would happen eventually). The developer spotlight hasn't been updated in months. It also seems the Grab staff rarely check out the dev messages boards unlike before. And there are some major features broken that they're very slow to address.
For example, when you add a new game, there's an option to add a Flash, Java, and Shockwave version. I uploaded a single file shockwave game and their system still uses Flash object html code to play the game, so obviously it doesn't work. Of course, I don't know how their system is setup, but it seems it shouldn't be too hard to fix. Just put the shockwave object code in there.
I believe someone else on this forum also had trouble getting their Java game to work with their system as well.
So if you don't have a Flash game it seems you're SOL. Which is unfortunate, because one of the great things about Grab is that you can chat with players in realtime as they play your game (assuming your game is online). I was really looking forward to getting player feedback.
It just seems to me that their Indie channel is currently on auto-pilot. Is anybody else getting the same feeling or is it just me?
