Ive got about 800 viruses today. they are patheic, they arent even clever, the same subject, same message body. someone tell these lame idiots that they are imrpessing exactkly nobody.
For ther ecord, its subjects are:

Don`t worry, be happy!

and

You`ve got 1 VoiceMessage!

both of which are about as convincing as "look a lame virus!"

when are ISPs going to install AV software at the server side and stop this crap. oh let me guess, the bloody lawyers ont let them?
Do me a favour... grrrrrrr!

I got one that said someone was using my account to send spam, and I should use this VERY important Attachment to stop them.

Pathedic.......

I think they are getting smarter as far as the social engineering aspect goes. I get them from xyz support team, which seem really real to a (not so bright) end user.

I implemented server side filtering a year ago and have never looked back. Sure, I loose all mail with .exe attachements (I have no AV engine, just a filter that dumps a lot of mail with suspicious attachments) but none of it is legitimate anyway. On a rainy day it is nice firing up the maillog and looking at the blips when those virus mails hit Mailscanner .. :)

I guess I'm lucky in that my ISP filters both spam and virii for me. On occasion, I have to look at the filtered spam to make sure nothing important was filtered, but other than that, it works great. What annoys me is emails from other ISPs claiming that I'm infected just because some virus picked my address from someone's contact list or address book.

The worst one says -"The message you sent was not recieved by the mail server, view the zip file to see a copy of this message"

Then inside the zip file the message file ends with a .txt extention but if you look like 20 blank spaces later (you have to expand the zip window) there is a little '.exe' at the end

Bad things man, very bad things

However in my yahoo account, I have noticed that I get a message every so often that is No subject, No Body, 585 bytes long. Bizzarre. I just figured it was a virus that got stripped somewhere along the way
