Hi Guys,
So my project has been in limbo for the past three months (finished game, waiting on artist, no art received) so I am now soliciting for a new artist.
The problem is that my budget is rather small in comparision ($600) for art so obviously my only option is price over expertise.
Thinking of a typical casual game, can anyone recommend a solid 2d artist that can fit into this budget?
Thanks guys,
perhaps some info on the type and genre. 2D art can be pretty broad, and a lot of people are pretty picky about the sort of work they want to do.

Well the game is more a large collection of mini-games into a unified theme...
2d referring to digitally drawn work...not hand drawn/scanned...a lot of photoshoped/UI art...possibily some pixel art.
Something along these lines:

Right now I am simply seeing if this is possible to find. If this is possible, would be more than happy to provide more detail...
Thanks,
Guillermo

is it possible? all depends, you still don't provide enough information, I'm a graphic designer myself, and in graphic design it's all about the time you take to complete a project. So, I say, if this project can be completed in 1 or 1.5 months (40 hours a week) you may find people that could be interested, but in order to estimate if it can be completed in such time you need to specify screen resolution, if there are color/memory limitations; if you need animations too, how many animated objects and how big they should be, if you need interfaces, how many; if you need logos, icons, etc. Telling us how many different mini-games are you planning to make would also help, the more info the better, anyone will ask you for that because it's necesary to pre-estimate the time taken to finish the project. I know of people (including myself :D) that can make quality job and may be interested if the game can be completed within the time specified above.

Let me put it this way then...
If you are a 2d artist, that does not typically charge huge rates, then please get a hold of me and we can work out the details.
I have received quotes from other artists that the work should take between 2 and 3 weeks. (Roughly 80 hours, but I am sure this varies depending on the artist)

Another bit of advice. Look at AAA titles you like or professional graphic novels and the like. Contact the artists. I wager you'll be pleasantly surprised. Most will give you a quote and many will actually want to work with you - even with your tiny budget.
