Do you accept cash mail orders?
Why?
Why not?

I'm honestly not sure if we do. :) We use BMT Micro and they have a 'Postal orders accepted' and 'Purchase order acceptance' whatever those are.
Why? Because BMT do.
Why not? Because they don't.
Not much use I know :)

Okay.
Btw - interesting to see... I can purchase my game from your store :P
(I guess they use cookies or something in BMT ;))

LOL!
I think they do use some cookie thing. Might fire off an email about that - wonder what would happen if someone went to a BMT site, stuck a product in their basket then went to another and had that occur.
And, what happens if I went to the buy page with your game on it and did the test purchase process? Would I end up being able to get all BMT vendors games for free?

We accept mail orders with checks or money orders. Officially, we do not accept cash. But when an envelop arrives with a $20 bill in it, we don’t mail it back. We send them a reg code. For such a small purchase ($20) the fees for processing international checks can be almost as much as the check itself. For someone living outside the US and trying to send us US funds, it is sometimes easier to send US cash than a US check. But we receive all kinds of strange stuff. People mail us US currency and currency from many other counties. One time we receive an envelope with a $10 US bill and a bill for 10 units of some other foreign currency (I don’t remember what country it was). You would think they would pick one currency or other other. But this guy sent us half in one currency and half in another.

From 1996-2000, when the original Paintball Net was online, we accepted cash, check, money order, and credit cards. 1996-1997, cash/check accounted for about half the payments. After that, credit cards dominated. Still, we received a lot of cash in the mail for that game.
I started a currency collection during that period. If something unusual came in, I'd just buy it from the company and add it to the collection. These days, we get almost no cash or check payments. 99% (or more) of payments are either credit cards or handled by the payment processor directly.
During that period, I received one or more of the following:
Gold dollars (and Susan B's)
2-dollar bills of various issue years
2 5-dollar bills that had been printed in 1950
Canadian currency
British currency
Australian currency
A Swiss-bank-issued money order for $15...that would have cost me $10 to cash...so I just kept it
I once also received a $10 payment that consisted of:
$2 roll of nickels
$5 roll of dimes
The rest made up in various coins
It arrived postage due to the tune of like...$2-$3.
I'll also mention that I almost *never* went to the ATM during those years. I'd just write checks to redeem the cash.
I kinda miss the variety. :)

Cool stories. We recently revamped our BMT store to support their new payment methods and beef up international yielding these results. Got a ton more pending check orders but seems only few are following through on dropping it in the mail.
credit card 86.2%
paypal 7.5%
switch/solo 3.8%
check 1.9%
duetch bank wire < 1%

btw - we also saw that problem with bmt shopping cart. They had us pass "&CLR=0" so it clears out the cart before re-populating it with selections from our side.

I think they do use some cookie thing. Might fire off an email about that - wonder what would happen if someone went to a BMT site, stuck a product in their basket then went to another and had that occur.Unless you are using the CLR= parameter, all products previously added to the cart will appear. Email me or check the online Help/FAQ for more info on the CLR= parameter.
And, what happens if I went to the buy page with your game on it and did the test purchase process? Would I end up being able to get all BMT vendors games for free? :eek:No! Only products from your account will be processed in the test order. You will get an error message if you try to order other vendors products.

Thank you guys. From what you are saying hear it sounds like the times of cash payment is (almost?) over? People know how to use CC, paypal or cheques. No big need to offer mail cash order anymore - especially if postal order is in use?
Is this correct?

yes. That is correct
