So the question is, what caused this spike, do you think? What changes have you made to your site?

Those results was for the period from 1st to 3rd of this month (Feb. 2005)

Not trying to make an ad for my OSA Kit but this is the only thing I added to my website!!! if it is the reason for this then it is a magic because I only see 12 people played the game online using OSA Kit!!!

Actually, I added OSA Kit to my website at the end of last month (Jan. 2005) and I mentioned in another thread that I am getting 10-15 sales monthly and now I got 18 sales for January and that's an increase for me!! It is still needs more time to tell though

Far from that and for that short period (3 days) and for 196 downloads, getting 5 sales is great!!! well, at least for me (I know there are people here who selling tons of their game ;))

Don't like to sound harsh for you Sphinx. But fluctuation of 5 sales per three days - meaning 1.66 sale per day could appear from time to time without any serious reason - just random coincident wish of five guys to order the game by the beginning of month. :)
I suppose anything less than 100 orders per day (and approriate trends for these figures) can't pretend to be any statistics at all. And we are also too far from that figures yet. If this makes you feel better. :D

I'd wish to get wrong with these my comments.

REM: And of course you can't count that by such simple way 196 downloads/5 sales from the beginning of the month. Are you sure that all sales were transformed exactly from these downloads?

I wish I could say the same about me =/

After a 3 week period, sales dropped 50% from the norm. The number of billing page and confirmation page has been consistent from month to month, but only half the people makes the purchase for January (And this is over a sample of thousands of hits). Arrgg, I really don't know what is going on!

But anyways, congrats to a good start, tho I agree the first three days are still a bit early to tell if your sales will be consistent.

wow congratulations (mabrook ;-) ) that is a good amount of money.

5 x $39.95 or 129.95 or 249.95 -- that's good for 3 days! which license is the most popular? also, i think you should market to regular software developers too. it would be cool to let customers try the software online instead of downloading and installing the demo.

also, you should grammer/spell check your site more:
"Welcome to the land you have ever dreamed of :) " does not make sense. it should be "Welcome to the land you have dreamed of".

good luck!

Andy : that's why I said it is still early but I am happy with it :)

george : You know Arabic then (Allah Ybarek feek ;)) by the way the sales were for my games not OSA Kit (OSA Kit sales are slow but constant!)

Also thanks for correcting my bad language I hope I can find someone who can help :)

OSA Kit requires me to download VB6 run-time files, even though I was trying to play the castle demo, which is clearly written in Blitz3D. Why?

So, what is your point?!! especially when you said it is CLEARLY written in Blitz3D!!

If you mean the VB6 runtime is a problem because it is about 1MB then Shockwave have the same problem too (even worse 2.5MB) and Flash is 0.5MB for IE and 0.7MB for other browsers!! by the way you can use ActiveX with FireFox and the likes (http://www.iol.ie/~locka/mozilla/plugin.htm)

OSAKit comes in two editions and one of them has the VB6 runtime (1MB) included so no warning for VB6 Download appears and the other edition is only 20KB but it will need VB6 get downloaded if -AND ONLY IF- the VB6 runtime is not installed on the user machine, after all the user only needs to install OSA Kit once.

i checked the rest of your osakit website and the grammar/spelling looked good, it was just that one line.

because osakit is written in VB, if I am correct... I thought all OS's since Win98 came with the vb runtime files, what OS are you running Omega??

Thanks again ;)

Omega : May be you thought OSA Kit was written in Blitz?!! in that case No, it was written in VB :)

Of course I didn't think it was written in Blitz3D. Since I do have all the VB6 SP5 run-times, and the FAQ said that they wouldn't download if one had them, I figured one of those things wasn't right when it asked me to download them.

Well, I think the browser ask for it anyway for the first time, even though it does not download it!
