Need a License

Hi,

I am starting a new business selling games online. I have everything ready but I was wondering if I need a license to be able to sell goods online? Thanks in advance.

Seriously, no, you don't. People sell stuff on ebay all the time, and all they do is sign up. Having a business license for your country has some benefits I'm sure other's will feel like sharing. Now there are some funny things about UK (?) sales, having to deal with some VAT tax thing, but most payment processing services do the confusing stuff for you.

All of Europe actually. It's not an issue though since, as you point out, it's handled by the payment processors. There would be an advantage in registering in that you could avoid VAT, but not registering is actually giving the taxman a bit more, not a bit less, so they won't mind. Of course, they will mind if you don't declare the extra income, assuming there is some.
