Hi guys,
Having spent 2 months learning max 09 and zbrush 3.1 i have created some art work (dyno kid model is fully rigged) so i thought id show ya what ive done is a short space from knowing nothing to knowing "something" about 3d max and zbrush.

I would love to get some more experience and maybe a little $$$ to go with it so if i can help on your project please leave a PM.
Meanwhile im currently doing my own art for a new game which im developing alone (art/programming)

It's very simple but at the same time it's stylistically coherent so it's good.
Only thing you could improve is the edge of your sprites, you should use neutral grey background to avoid black at the edges, and there are some other techniques with transparency.

Thank you my models come with alphas so in game they look very clear (no black borders) but yeah point taken for demonstration purposes.

I like! How are you at animating those 3d objects for walking, throwing, etc, etc?

I think you need some texture or at least less gloss. The octopus in particular is way too shiny. And yeah, presentation is important. My first impression was that the work itself was really amateurish, but now that I look more carefully, it wouldn't be that bad if it was presented in a better context.

At the moment ive learned how to make 3d objects (models) in both zbrush and 3d max 09 to a good standard and apply simple materials however texture and more so with rendering and setting up lights i have a lot to learn still (my next crash course)
Rigging - i have done "some" rigging, dyno kid is fully boned but not perfect, again i have some more training to do.

I have to say that the models look pretty good (aside from the edges/gloss mentioned), but that animation needs work IMO. I'm no animator, but some comments:
1) The movements are too rigid. They look like "let's make a linear interpolation between coordinates" rather than fluid movement.
2) It's too subtle. The character is a cartoony one, so I expected cartoony movement. Swing those arms more, baby - even if it's supposed to be under water!
3) Also, a more dynamic speed range would be nice. I tend to like animations that can show, for example, how one arm is starting to move slowly and then picks up speed, and slows down - etc. (But maybe that doesn't look good on octopuses.)
Essentially, bigger movements and more dynamics. But then again, the only animated 3D model I ever made looked like barf crawling around with a limp, so I don't know how to do this.

Just bumped because i have changed/added new models.
Had a few Questions about rates and if you read above you will know i'm still learning/training so i would charge per model and not per hour because i will be slower than most artists here and it would be a lot better for you.
