I had no clue how it can be done. How do you trust a person in charge of a program to give you what they promise? Well eseller has something called
SplitPay where the people who worked on a game can setup how much % each one will get. Does RegNow,Plimus,RegSoft or others have a SplitPay?

Hey Z,
I think PLimus has this option. E-mail their support. They are pretty good about answering quickly.

It's a crucial option. I've been using the affiliate features at bmt to do it, but it bars me from using them for what they're designed to do. It's especially difficult for me to make payments living abroad as I do. I think BMT is working on a royalty split feature.

RegNow also has this feature where you can transfer funds to another developer as long as they are also signed up with RegNow.

With Plimus you can easily setup royalties split in form of percentage or fixed amount (example 50% of price or 5$). You only need to know the userid of the person you want to send royalties to.

When I need to do this, I just keep track of the information in my spreadsheet and send out checks each month/quarter.
Sometimes, the deal you have isn't easily handled by one of the automated systems. So you just do it yourself.

But, AFAIK, there's no way to split a percentage of the revenue. That is, the % to split is calculated before the affiliate comission, so there's no way to split revenues by % :(

Uhm I don't understand exactly what you mean :p
We sell a game for 10$ with 50% royalty, a friend sell it with 30% commission: we get both the 50% of what's left after affiliate commission.
so: 10$-30%=7$
We both get 3.5$ (well you should also calculate the 10% comission of plimus).
What you would need instead?

I need what you say, but it's not the way Plimus works, at least the last time I asked them (july 2004) :
- Royalties are calculated from the sales price, "50, Percent" will not achieve your goal.
For example:
Total sales price is $100, after Plimus fee at 10% that would leave you with $40 and him with $50 if you chose 50% on royalties
- To achieve a 50% split after Plimus fee you would have to factor in the fee, which will result in a different percentage.
OK... so for a $100 product there's $90 to split 50/50 which gives $45 or 45%. But how does this work when there is also affiliate comission?
2) Not exactly, since all fees you pay as a reseller come out of the total sale price as follows:
Total - Royalty = X
X - Plimus fee = Y
Y - Affiliate fee = Z
Z is what you will receive as the Reseller.
Example: if Total=$100 , Royalty = 50/50, Plimus fee = 10%, and Affiliate fee = 30% (not actual fees - rounded to simplify example)
Reseller share = Total ($100) - Royalty ($50) - Plimus ($10) - Affiliate ($30) = $10
So, if you have an affiliate that takes 30% comission, I'd want Plimus to take $10, the affiliate take $30, and splitting the remaining $60 in halves - 30 and 30. But as you see, the 50% is calculated first.
In short, there's no % you can choose that will generate the desired results both when there is an affiliate and where it isn't one.

Ah ok, understood now.
Hmm well then Plimus is very good for affiliates and people who own royalties!! maybe too good ;)

Maybe it's a new option? Back in July the Plimus guys confirmed I couldn't do what I wanted to do

Yes maybe they added it after July... they're adding new options very often (I just saw now another option in the contract setup I never noticed before! eheh).
