We recently did a big promotion with Apple and we're getting a bunch of Mac users visiting our site. Our site is mostly setup for Windows users but we just added some client-side Mac detection to redirect Mac visitors to our "Mac Games" page (which is the main/only Mac area of our site).

If you're a Mac user, could you please visit http://www.hipsoft.com and let me know if you get redirected ok? If you see anything bad or irritating, please let me know (you should get redirected to www.hipsoft.com/macgames.html)

Thanks for your help.

Redirect working and page looks fine on my osx 10.3 using:

Safari 1.2.4 (v125.12)
I.E 5.2 (default install on 10.3)
Firefox 1.0

although there is a short delay before the redirect kicks in.

It all works fine for me (OS 10.3.7 and Safari 1.2.4).

And cool, more games to try out over the holidaze :)

Thanks guys! We're hoping to move the redirect to server-side (which should improve the speed) ...but we needed to get something going ASAP so we went with this for now. :)

Thanks again,

Works fine for me in Safari on 10.3.7. There was a little delay before the redirect, but you said you are looking to solve that so I guess I don't have anything else to report :p

The redirect works fine but if I use your nav bars to navigate site I leave the mac area and presented with your normal windows site. I'd like to see you server side check if mac or win and present appropriate web pages customized for pc or mac. Check our site from a pc and mac. See how we present you pc only or mac only games depending on user agent / computer type.

As I mentioned above, we had to get something working asap until we have time to do it properly server-side. Although, if you leave the Mac section, you're basically entering the Windows section (and most everything is now labeled that it's "for Windows") and we want Mac users to still have access to the Windows section since we've already had Mac users by CD-ROM gifts for their Windows user friends.

I'll check out your site on our Mac to get more ideas on the best way to handle it for our site.

Thanks again,
