Project Info
Project Title: Penny and Paul's Adventures
Game Type: Zelda Perspective (i.e. top down-ish) 2d movement based puzzle game based on a series of single screen maps.
Job Requirements
I need an artist for two interrelated tasks. The first is the creation of a pickups (4 different objects) and a series of map tiles (14 different base types), some in 4 different orientations, some animated and some pallet swapped. The second is the creation of the main player character which would be a penguin with 6 different animations. Before the main work begins I am looking to compare two different styles of art, a 'classic' 16-bit pixel art style and a more sparse vector-image style (although still strongly pixel art based). As all work will take place on 32/48x32/48 tiles I assume there will be overlap in the skill of producing the two different styles. In general I want a bright cheerful look, family friendly you might say. A fuller description of what I'm looking for is contained in http://www.geometricgames.com/ArtSpec.txt and http://www.geometricgames.com/TileDetailedDesc.html
I would be willing to consider hiring an artist for just the map tiles or character work separately but I will give strong preference to artists who wish to do both as I am looking for a cohesive style.
Payment
Payment would be by completion of milestones, the work required for each is detailed in the ArtSpec.txt document. Final amount is negotiable but around £650-£800 ($1100-$1500) in total depending on the final amount of work requested and experience of artist.
