Hello,

My name is Adam Schmelzle, and I've got a bunch of simple games that I want somebody to port over to the iPhone from J2ME. Up until now I've done everything myself, which would be quite obvious to anyone that has played my J2ME games...

'3D Attack Chopper' 1 and 2
'Attack Breaker Pro'
'Origami Rose', 'Origami Daisy' etc.

I'm looking to start by having somebody port my simplest game 'Origami Rose' from J2ME to iPhone. I'd do it myself, but I'm just learning this crazy iPhone stuff, and would rather spend my time playing around with the SDK at the moment. I find porting games exceedingly boring :P, so why not get somebody else to do it?

'Origami Rose' is a free game available from http://gamejump.com, http://00adam.com, http://mobilerated.com, and others. If you'd like a better idea of the game, just download it to your non-iPhone mobile and give it a go. It's basically a virtual flower that you water throughout the day, and watch it grow. This is a dead simple game to create, having only one game screen, and very little animation. I'm hoping the developer/team/whoever that ports the game can do a better job at the visuals than I did(wouldn't be hard). If it works out, I've got other games to port, and/or new ideas that I'd rather pay others to make than do myself.

I intend to put the game(s) up on the app store for free, being supported by ads from greystripe.com. This game will probably take less than a week to create, likely only a few days for somebody that's familiar with the iPhone SDK. I'm a Java guy, so I'd rather get other people to handle the Objective-C.

So do I ask for quotes or offers? Or should I offer a flat rate? PM if you'd like to discuss further. I'm flexible with the money, and if the porting person(s) want to go the extra mile for more money, that's good too.

Having done everything on my own up until now, I'm new to this whole business of contracting others to work for me. If you guys think I should have more details in this post, don't feel shy in posting here to let me know what else would be good to include.

Hi Adam,

I've not actually played any of your mobile titles, but is/are the flower(s) animated bitmap graphics or 3D style plots/area fills in your origami series of games?

Mail me directly at...

adrian@mobileamusements.com

...and we 'might' be able to work something out regards the iPhone/iTouch/App Store and indeed Greystripe where you will want to actually adwrap it and push it thru.

I've just got done with my first iPhone title and have wrapped it with the Greystripe iPhone adwrap SDK (although I am awaiting a newer version before I can release it as I type), so I am interested in your proposal at least at this stage if nothing else ok.

For this to work for you at all however, you will require your own Apple App store account to upload end product into and a Greystripe iPhone product ID per title so that ad generated revenues are routed back to you directly and not me of course.

Cheers,
