Thank you Reactor. :)
Hmm my silliness took the best of me in the initial post, here's a little more info...
My name is Robert Dowling and I'm an experienced animator. I have 6 years worth of experience in the game industry and currently lead animator for an Australian company called Redtribe.
I've recently changed my 'working for the man' hours to part time. To develope my own game, but do freelance work on the side (as well as the lead position at above mentioned studio) to fund my project and keep the family full of nutritious food.
Edit: just like to mention that since September 2008 I became freelance fulltime. With focus on contract work and my own game 'Lylian'. Umm... that's all!

Very impressive work!
What is your availability and commitment to freelancing? (Assuming you have a part time job and working on your own game)
If you prefer you can PM me.

Thanks for your interest and kind comments Genimo.
I've adjusted hours to part time work to necessitate freelance work. The more freelance work I have, the sooner I remove the studio employment altogether.
Currently I have 4 months worth of freelance work to keep me busy on a parttime schedule (4 full days and most evenings per week scheduled for freelance). So any new requests can be fitted in to this time or arranged for later down the calender (it depends on the quantity of work required and the requested deadline). I can also sub-contract work if it's required.
My project can only develop with funding, so freelance work is a first priority.

Nice to see another Aussie around ;)
I should ask, what software do you use?

Yeah mate. :)
For animation, I have licenses for XSI and 3DsMax but can also use Maya.
I also have licenses for Photoshop and Zbrush3.

Thank you Charles, I'm admiring your mech models at the moment :D
Very nice stuff.
Those insects must have been a lot of work.

Cheers vjvj, yeah the insect characters were a lot of fun, more limbs to animate but easier than the bipedal characters because you can get away with their motion. Everyones' an expert on how people move.

I know answering like this is lame, but... +1.
The authenticity of motion is simply amazing.

Hey thanks Angie1313 & ConayR,
The interesting thing is I have quite a lot of more recent work that I should shove in there. But I'll have to wait until I have a spare few minutes. :)
Thanks to everyone that's taken a moment of their time to have a little squizz at the reel too!
Just wanted to jump in here and give a big thumbs up for ionside's work. We contracted him to do a bunch of animations for us and he was a joy to work with. Quality work, great work ethic, excellent communication, and professionalism from top to bottom. We even had a couple communication setbacks (which were my fault) and he handled them without any problems or whining.
If anyone needs a 3D animator, I recommend ionside :)

Hey vjvj thank you so much for your kind words!
And thanks again for letting me be a part of your project. I believe it's going to be a great title and would love the chance to have a play of it when it's ready to show off!
Again, thanks.

Hey thanks guys, it's always appreciated to hear comments about my work!
And thanks Juuso for your thumbs up.
I will update the reel sometime soon (it's all pretty old now). Like I mentioned earlier; I have a heap of samples I can add to it which is constantly growing. But it's a little lower on the list of things to do at the moment.
