Maybe we need some kind of map or a social widget or something that plots everyone's location on the globe.

I think I saw someone make one earlier .. but if it was integrated into the forum it would be a lot more useful especially for networking and stuff.

Yep! I'm from NYC. I actually host a monthly NYC game developer drinking/mixer thing at a bar. The next one is less than a week from now - july 19th. Feel free to come! We usually get a very good crowd. There's more info HERE. (http://www.igda.org/Forums/showthread.php?threadid=32628)

It must be tough to be a game dev in NYC, with cost of living so high. Do devs there make enough money to actually live there? :)
