Greetings, Vancouverites!
It's been many a month (and year!) since we've had a Vancouver indie meet-up. Jake Birkett (Grey Alien) is coming to town for a visit, so let's get together!
When: Thursday, the 26th of June, 7pm
Where: Earls Restaurant, 905 Hornby Street
So far we've got 14 people coming... if you intend to come but haven't emailed me directly or replied to one (http://forums.indiegamer.com/showthread.php?t=13679) of these threads (http://forums.indiegamer.com/showthread.php?p=163945), then please reply now.
Thanks!

I'll try to show up. I'm close to there during the day, so shouldn't be a problem.

It'll be good to meet you, Jason.
We've got 10 people signed up so far, and about 3 or 4 "maybes". Should be a good get-together!

Ok, so apparently Earls won't take reservations past 6pm... does anyone have a suggestion for another place in that area with food that is broadly appealing? (And will take reservations past 6pm!)
Otherwise, I could just try to go early to get us a table at Earls.

Try Milestones or Moxies.. Moxies on Robson will I believe and it's quite large.

Thanks, I will likely try one of those... I was hoping to keep it more "central downtown" (so that it wouldn't be too much of a walk for west enders, yaletowners, or gastowners), but that may not be possible.

Robson and Bute is pretty central. It's only 2 or 3 blocks from the Burrard skytrain, and a quick cab ride from hotels in Yaletown.

I'll be staying in a hotel in yaletown...

I've spoken with a few other people, and it looks like the preference is still Earls. I'll try to get there at 6:30 to get us a large enough table. If anyone else wants to arrive at 6:30 and hold or wait for a table with me, that'd be great :)
I'll be the guy wearing a white "Wii" hat!

Cool, well I don't know our itinerary 100% yet but we'll see what we can do about getting there early.

OK we will definitely see you there! I'll look out for your hat. For reference, I'm 33, about 5'7" and I have dark brown hair in a pony tail + I wear glasses. I'll be with Helen who looks hot (I don't, so this contrast should be nice and obvious ;) ) If you get a chance to email or PM me your mobile in the next 15 hours or so, that would be great. I'll send you mine now.

Ok, sounds good, Jake. Unfortunately I don't have a mobile phone, so I can't give you my number in return!
I should be easy to spot... 6'0", white Wii hat, 30 years old.
See you Thursday!

Hi,
Not really posted on here before, but I have had a few conversations with Jake (Grey Alien) about Indie games and becoming an Indie developer and even though I have not had the pleasure in talking with any of you guys on this forum yet, it would have been cool to fly over (I'm in the UK) and meet up.
Can someone please take a camera with them and upload some pictures so I can at least start to put some names to faces?

Ok, we're up to 14 people now... as mentioned, Earls doesn't take reservations after 6pm, so if anyone is willing to go at 6:30 to help me get a table, I'd really appreciate it!

Add one more. My wife/artist is going to come too. We'll try to come a bit early.

Hey it was great to meet you all! I'll post some photos soon. I've just had an operation so am currently recovering.
