June 7, 2008 - Brisbane, Qld - Poison Axe Games (www.poisonaxe.com) is proud to release their first title, Galactic Justice. Galactic Justice puts players in the middle of a battle between the Galactic Council and the dastardly Boomdragons, an evil force intent on taking control of the galaxy.

A good battle needs big weapons and Galactic Justice delivers. With over 20 weapons and 50 upgrades there is no shortage of ways to destroy those pesky Boomdragons. A unique combo system allows players to think up new and creative ways to play.

Anemic 6, a swamp covered planet recently hit by a blood comet. Frostyl, an icy moon. And finally Boomstone, the home planet of the Boomdragons! Each planet features new weapons, upgrades, missions and enemies!

My first press release, feel free to comment on it. I can't change this one now but I'll definitely keep it in mind for my next one.

Thanks

Music and graphics are good. But I didn't like the controls (I prefer standard WASD) so I stopped playing after a few minutes. I really wanna try out some of the things I saw in that trailer, so whenever I'm in a more patient mood I'll play again. Oh, and the trailer text: the "Be a hero" message has been done like 3957390453 times before. :D It's ok though cuz everybody does it!

Also, "Press escape to start" had me tripped out yo.

You can use either wasd or arrows.

That's what I was going for. :) The idea is that the Galactic Council go on and on about justice and what's right but perhaps they are in fact the evil ones ... dun dun dun.

That's what I was going for anyway so it was supposed to be over the top.

Anyway thanks for playing :D

Dan,

The game looks great but maneuvering the vehicle with the controls is awkward. I had a hard time getting the vehicle to turn.

I found it quite a lot of fun after I got used to the controls. It also ran quite smoothly on my low-spec laptop. Perfect length for a demo too.

However, the fact that I couldn't see very far around my vehicle made things a bit difficult, although that may have been your intent.

What I mean is W should make you go up, instead of forward, and S down, etc. There are lots of games that do it your way, such as Mexican Motor Mafia (which was #5 on Gametunnel's Top 100 indie games (http://www.gametunnel.com/articles.php?id=620)). But I'm sure the majority of gamers would prefer the standard WASD. Adding it would definitely increase sales.

And I really really like the intro music. I'm listening to it right now. Who did it? And where are the credits? I always like to see the team structure behind indie games.

Any stats to support that?

Sorry. They're in my top secret market research folder, which can only be opened by my facial imprint.

anyway, the controls are just right for that type of game, and changing it would not make it better. I like the way it won't let you turn unless you're moving.

This reminds me of a certain discussion about the controls of Alien Flux... anyone remembers that one? :D

I gave up in the middle of the first mission, I found it very hard to maneuver the vehicle. I also did not understand how to fire my weapon:( so I didn't get very far...

You can change to mouse control in the options and the vehicle will drive toward the cursor so you can just worry about shooting. Use the right mouse button to reverse.

Some of the weapons need to be charged so you hold down the mouse button until its ready. Theres a bar above the name of the weapon.

Thanks for the information, I will try switching it to mouse control when I get home.

Could not get my car to shoot. Agree with earlier comment about WASD although this old school flying around mechanic does bring back memories. Menu's fly on and off screen kind of slowly and was frustrated by how slow the mouse clicks took.

Good company name.
