Just an FYI: I started a new web hosting business, built off of technology I perfected with my own game businesses. Since i've gotten a lot of great info here, I wanted to pass along a special deal to any of you here who are interested in web site hosting.
Great shared hosting packages, starting at $1.75, all the features and good helping of stats too. We'll even transfer your site for FREE, if you need that.
Fast servers, no overloading or overselling, and 30-day money back guarantee.
And i'm offering a 30% off first month coupon to any here who sign up! Enter coupon code: indiegamer to get the discount. Good on any package.

You save $0.53 USD! This is a really cool deal. I'll be trying it out on a new site... and will be reporting back with how it went.
Great! I am also looking for new web host as well. Let me know after you use the service. ;)

The same guy is running SoftCartPro, http://www.softcartpro.com
Looks like a good effort to offer less expensive solutions, right now the only thing that concerns me is uptime and transfer rate of large files.

Brian did try me out, other than a bug in the formatting of the initial e-mail (which I just resolved and fixed) everything went pretty well, I think. Thanks Brian!
I own my own servers, and the speed is quick transferring any size file, because I don't do the 'overloading' thing. I invite Hama and JGO, and all other authors to give me a shot. :)
Everything is setup and I am very happy :D the server is very fast; much, MUCH faster than any shared server that I've ever been on. I imagine it may slow down as more people join, but I'm sure Derek will keep everything running really well. If there is anyone needing hosting at the moment and is reading this thread I recommend that they sign up as this is a fantastic deal.
Sound great! But 50Gb bandwidth is still low. Most game download sites will need to buy additional bandwidth packages. Do you know how much for additional bandwidth? 1$ per 1GB:P?

I can offer you a deal for some additional bandwidth perhaps, depending on your needs. I'm the owner and run my own stuff, so I can call the shots. Much lower price than $1/GB. :D
Feel free to e-mail me with your site (if any) and anticipated needs, and we can set something up, perhaps?

Thanks Derek. I am going to move my company info site there and if everything works fine, I will move my game site there as well.

You have poor punctuation/grammar in your opening paragraph. Your website is slow, consider compressing graphics so it looks like customer hosted pages will load faster.
There is a missing button on your main website page, which leads to a 404.

A. I just reread it, and it sounds fine. A shakespearean dissertation isn't necessary, I didn't think.
B. Website loads quick for me, and for most others i've had test it. Grainy, compressed graphics doesn't look good or professional either.
C. The 404 thing has been fixed. It's for a Services button, for when we add more services later. A visible Services button that wouldn't click and led to nothing wouldn't look good.
Thank you for your input, but 22 people in 2 days have already decided i'm doing business "properly".

Nice! I plan on checking this out in about 2-3 months, let's see how this pans out. :) Congrats on the new sign ups!

I've revised my site, to give it a slick new polish and more "professional" design. I urge any here who want quality hosting and low prices to give me a shot. I do custom packages (please ask!) and am going to be adding Windows/Plesk/ASP.Net hosting too (testing before offering it on the site) but it's available starting at $2.95/mo for 1GB space/15GB BW.
I've hosted a few here now and aside from a few little things, all are happy.
The indiegamer coupon expires April 18th. Today's my birthday (you don't want to know how old I am!) so help me celebrate by signing up for a plan today!

Due to popular demand, the deal has been extended!
The coupon code indiegamer still gets you 30% off your first month, and the response from here has been great. All is well so far. We're at 25 clients and growing, and the newly redesigned site has been very popular. We've added Live Chat and more CPanel features too.
Paying too much or just kinda 'blah' with your current host? Come and see me, and i'll take care of you!
