as usual you can download the game through the hUb, and the DirectX installation is just 12 Mb ;)

A new version of Caribbean Pirate Quest is on the way, did anyone notice the name change?
The new version has a lot of balanceing issues resolved and some graphics improvements. A Pre release can be found here:

Looks interesting but I don't want to have to upgrade my copy of DirectX to play it - doesn't look like you would need this, why is the installer asking for it, I'm running DX 9.

Not many knows, but Microsoft releases four new versions of the DirectX runtimes every year.
We use the august 2007 release of DirectX
The game checks for d3dx9_35.dll if we cannot find it, the player needs to install a newer version of DirectX
Has anyone asked themselves why M$ does not include DX in Windows Update?

I really like how you do these games, with hub, constant updates .. I have the hub installed for a long time ( I like ufo pilot 2 )... I will try this game also and update/recheck the old ones too...

Thank you jankoM, we really believe in iterative development with frequent releases!
Unfortunately we have had some trouble with the hUb servers, but in the long run this was good since it forces us to create a stable solution. We hope to have a mirrored server-solution soon... when we do, I think we are ready to put some other developers games on the hUb!
I think the DX9 upgrade problem is a weird one, I really donīt get it why people have a problem with upgrading it?
(it makes your games work better you know ;) )

Your game looks interesting, I will have to give it a try. It looks like a mix of Pirates: Battle for Caribbean with a bit of Cradle of Rome. :]

Just played it. It seems interesting, but it's really not good that you don't let players continue a previous game unless they buy the full version. When I saw that I couldn't be bothered to start again.

I agree, I will consider removing it... Probably better to have some other constraint... or just the time-limit

Cool. Just the time limit is probably fine. It works for most other games. Every time I hit a limit in a demo it annoys me (except for the time limit which I've come to expect)

I removed the limitation!
New version with some refinements is up on the hub today! (as well as seperate release)
