As a matter of interest, I was sent an email to day from art outsourcing company called Novtilus ltd from Beijing.
I'm not overly interested at the moment, but has anyone had any dealings with these guys in the past?

We got sent about 5 emails in total I think. Form email with a game name change. Not used them and probably won't now.

If I get an email from artists/musicians/Plimus and I haven't expressed an interest in what they do, then that to me, is spam and gets treated as such.
I wouldn't never deal with any person/company who feels that they need to resort to such tactics to drum up trade.

I don't mind a quick email from someone offering their services but when you get the same email to business@blah.com and info@blah.com it starts to feel a little more like spam.

Oh I agree, it is complete spam and that puts them to the bottom of the pile for me.
I was just curious if anyone had heard of them really.
We get spam like that from time to time, there's an Indian company that often emails asking if we need any coding (yeah right, like we can afford that! )
I do often wonder if they're just cowboys or if they are any good though :)

I get some of those too, what is fun is that if you ask for a quote for a small project, hop they send you an insane amount request...!
I found much better deals and of same quality from freelance sites like www.rentacoder.com or www.elance.com ... without need of any spam :D

Yeah, their dayly rate is like $100. Could deal with it, though they say, "we will need few days to complete the task" :D
So I'd rather hire someone inhouse.
cheers

Well some "studios" just try. They think us european or american have tons of money in excess maybe. A very good friend of mine showed me insane quotes like 20k$ for 5 flash games (and company was from India!!). Then the same flash games were made by another company for $600. Talk about "small difference" :p
