Grey Alien Games and Big Fish Games are proud to present Fairway Solitaire for Mac (http://www.bigfishgames.com/download-games/2880/mac/fairway-solitaire/index.html?afcode=afd3eeedd5e4) (Universal Binary).

This top 10 smash hit game is an unusual mix of Solitaire and Golf which has proved extremely successful, earning the game "WINNER! #1 Card/Mahjong Game of 2007" on Big Fish Games and numerous other glowing reviews.

Fairway Solitaire showcases what BlitzMax can achieve in a top-level super-addictive casual game that many hardcore game players have found themselves seriously hooked on. Give it a try today and see what all the fuss is about. And if you don't have a Mac, please try out the PC version!

A little history:

Originally the game was a very popular online Java game on the Big Fish Games "Game Community" site. Grey Alien Games was contracted to develop the downloadable version of the game for Big Fish Games with John Cutter who is the original designer. We added loads more features to the download version such as a golf shop, trophies, stats screen, newspaper stories, minigames, more wildshot cards, more special effects etc. All the graphics were updated with new artwork from Matt Laverty and the sounds and music were enhanced by Somatone.

Thanks everyone, I'm very pleased with this game - we put a lot of effort into it! It's still 30-something in the BFG top 100 and will hopefully hang around there for a long time. Localised versions are coming out soon as well.

It's our #1 mac sale, the first card game ever to achieve that level of sales on either pc or mac. Jake and John really broadened the player base to non-card players (like me), and the golf mechanic really provides variational gameplay that pushes players past the demo hour without feeling like they've seen it all.

BEst regards,
Emmanuel

Fairway Solitaire is #1 on apple.com today!

http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/games/index_top.html

It's plastered all over the site and is the current most popular game (helps that it's new and a staff pick). Interestingly it's #9 on overall downloads between Firefox and Google Earth!

Wowsers! Nice going!

I like that you're beating Google Earth for downloads, that's hilarious. :D

#1 Download on Apple.com today too. That's awsome! ;) Even beating the Tomb Raider Anniversary Demo which is at #9. I wonder what that says about the Mac market. Hmmmm....

Well done Jake! Your are a true inspiration to people wanting to get into the game business. Btw, I still want to do that game one day but I reckon we'll have to adjust the gameplay element :P

Btw, can I please have the pleasure of telling eveyone I was the first person to publish a "Jake Birkett" game :D

Indiepath: You were critical to my success because your games inspired me and your knowledge of the industry helped me get started and I'll never forget that. Thanks.

Hey why haven't you got an Indie author badge? Regarding that game, it was a good idea, but as with all things, when would we find the time? My flowershop idea got made a while back too, did you see that?
