Harpooned is a free game for Windows. It's a Japanese Cetacean Research Simulator where you play the role of a Japanese scientist performing research on whales around Antarctica. I made it in around 5 weeks using Torque Game Builder.

Download it at the website: http://harpooned.org

it is brilliant and looks great, loved the sounds.

my only suggestion is to have a clean uninstall, right now it leaves some log file in the install dir and doesn't remove it.

mot - well spotted with the uninstaller! I hadn't noticed that myself and nobody else had mentioned it before. I used the nullsoft scriptable install system, with the default settings. I'll be sure to pay more attention to the uninstaller in future.

Looks great and I love this tongue-in-cheek humor. Good job! "Loading meat onto research vessel for further study." Hilarious.

I remember about 6 or 7 years ago I spoke about America in front of a huge group of Japanese senior citizens at some charity function, and the very first question from the audience was some some crusty old guy demanding to know why Americans wanted to stop Japanese whaling and didn't they know it was a national tradition? (My talk had had nothing to do with whaling.) I replied that I didn't know much about the controversy but my understanding was that whales were disappearing and if Japanese ate them all that would guarantee an end to whaling. He just kind of glared at me for the rest of the question and answer session...
