Here is a little trailer for our old school styled games
I used fraps and wmm to create it!
All music is from the games!
Tell me what you think of it?

Astro Creeps looks (and sounds) cool, good stuff. It is the kind of game where static screenshots don't tell you much, but the trailer would definitely make me wanna give it a try (however, I doubt I would install another 'download manager' unless I was very sure of it. it takes a lot of trust for me to install those).

Yes I agree, we have some issues trying to explain the Spell of play hUb. We develop all our games iteratively so we have a lot of updates, T.W.T.P.B and Pirate Quest is updated every two weeks, so we wanted to make it easier for the customers by having only one installer/updater.
The hUb only runs when you start it! No systray item.
You select when you want to update games!
It is lightweight and should not bog down your system.
It uninstalls itself nicely
Anyone having any idea on how to explain this to customers?
I made another video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pzmlgUVxh2c

It looked like fun, I was excited... I even installed your "hUb", but when it started downloading DirectX (BTW I have pretty recent version of DirectX 9), that was too much! I instantly stopped and uninstalled it...
Other players may be more patient and have more free time, but I strongly recommend making process of actually starting the game as smooth and as fast as possible...

I agree, the process should be as smooth as possible, but we use a new dx version and m$ spits out like 4 new versions of dx dlls a year, and I think you are not allowed to distribute those dll outside a dx-installer...
So our solution was to let the user download a smaller installation of dx through the hUb. Maybe a better way is to redirect the user (if we cannot load the dlls) to http://www.microsoft.com/downloads (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=2da43d38-db71-4c1b-bc6a-9b6652cd92a3&displaylang=en) but the user must download and install dx by himself.
I really wish someone at M$ could distribute and update DX through windows update instead!!!
The dx version we let you install through the hUb is ~12Mb not so big right?:D
