Is there not just a one-off fee for this ?

I might be interested, but in buying the software outright without keep getting bilked every time I use it. The hassle alone is enough to put me off, regardless of cost per model, even if it was a buck. I also don't know ahead of time how many I might want, but over years it might be a shitload.

I think you should definitely consider a more standard purchase agreement.

Yeah, this doesn't look like a good indie. tool based upon pricing, both the amount and pricing model make this a non-starter for me.

I'm gonna make an indie game 3d tool and license per-polygon.

Heck, it could be a bullet-point feature.

* Per-polygon licencing encourages efficient modelling, making your games run faster!

So, you have to pay for the software, pay for the models, and pay to license the models... even if you've heavily modified them yourself?

Much cheaper to use Poser, plus it looks better.

Hi,

The N-Sided Team is proud to release its brand new version of QUIDAM, its 3D character creation software.

I had a quick look and this software seem absolutely superb!
Too bad is so expensive.

Eh? Poser's models can't be used in a commercial project (I'm not talking about rendering an image of them). Plus, the newer ones have massive polycounts. At least this software allows you to build both high and low resolution versions, and use the models in a game. The pricing model is actually quite the bargain.

Another thing that can be improoved is the restriction of the demo version: you cannot save!

If we cannot test the full production pipeline, we cannot evaluate the product in the right way.

Not many 3D programs have a trial with saving an exporting. I'd send them an email and find out if there's a money back guarentee if the file format support they list doesn't work as advertised.

Good point, I didn't think of that Reactor. I figured most indies were using 2D renders (as me).

Hello,

Thanks to all for your replies.

Reactor is true. Other 3d character softwares do not allow to use 3D meshes in commercial (and even free) projects. We are establishing a licensing model so that it now becomes possible with QUIDAM 2, and know that many indie developers have signed up.

Of course, if your game is 2D (sprites, etc), you don't need to buy content licensing but only QUIDAM 2 and its plugins, Model Packs, etc.
Please, understand that QUIDAM 2 is not *only* a tool, it also provides a huge amount of 3D content ready to "mix", and to generate original and unique characters.

BiboGames, we can send you a sample 3D character in the format of your choice (3DS MAX, Maya, etc.). First, save the QUI file in the demo and send it to us, or we can just generate the default character of the Model Pack (ie database) that you wish. You will first have to sign an NDA and fax it back to us, so that it is clear that the model is used for evaluation. All such inquiries should be sent to sales(at)n-sided.com

Best regards,
