Hi guys, have you ever wonder that maybe your game is more "acceptable" in other part of this world ??
Anyway, before I release my first game, I created a site with my web games in it and apparently from the demographic that I receive from my weblog my site is quite popular in Japan as much as in US !!!!

Now, my upcoming game will have the similar style and gameplay like my webgames but I cannot find away to reach those potential market (Asia ->Jpn, China, Korea).
Of course I can always try to sell from my website directly but I was wondering if there's some sort of online publisher like realrcade/bigfish, reflexive, etc who sell shareware games to those countries.

I've been doing some research and googling.. but.. hey.. most of them don't speak english or their website isn't in english so no luck so far.

So maybe if you things or two bout this..
Anyway, I'm from Indonesia which is in Asia too.. I was wondering if there are more of you micro game developers from Asia ? I really like to know..

Thanks

Being from Indonesia, I think you have a better chance than us westerners to find local or semi-local contacts. I was in touch with a company offering publishing in Japan but they were interested in programs only. I'd also love to have Betty's Beer Bar in Japan and maybe China.

If you could hire a translator, offering your game in different languages would probably help.

The same as you would any game here in the states, or elsewhere that has a base of English. Only the translator would be able to tell you what the places are saying, what people are saying, etc. You might want to get a translator just so they can read you a book on marketing in Japanese. I'll bet you the ideas would be about the same as here... the only difference would be, because of culture difference, is what people buy! But remember we are all human!

Japan has it's own search engines, so does Korea and China. Also they have their own portal sites, download site, review site etc. Some major news sites may decide to review your game if it is in their language, while some of the major news sites here only care if it involves killing a dead president...

Though I have heard that piracy is much higher there, and it is usually worth it to just ban all ip's from those countries!

I have had about 500 downloads from china and no sales from china... well except for one. I'm afraid that someone bought the game, and then made a patch from demo to full version!! But because I don't speak Chinese I cannot tell :p
