I just finished my first indie game. It's not super polished or anything, as I made the whole thing in just a little over a month, but I think it turned out fairly well for the amount of time I spent on it.

Click to turn the lights on and off and scare the roaches into traps. The game is over either when daybreak comes, or you manage to exterminate all of the roaches.

I like the style and feel of the game. And the music is excellent.

Just playing casually I wasn't able to complete the level with the rugs. 22 seconds doesn't leave a lot of room for error.

You misspelled "clean." ;)

I did?? Where? Misspellings must be dealt with with extreme prejudice!

Thank you for the kind comments, but the music isn't mine (although I wish it were, as it is indeed fantastic). It's by a guy (gal?) who goes by the name of Royal Sefton, and the track was originally on the "Bound Together" Earthbound remix project. I recommend the rest of the project if you liked that, as it's quite good, and legally free to download for all :).

Oh, hey, a Linux version. Guess I'll play it then. :)

It's definitely got potential. I love the art style, very groovy. Nice work. It's a reasonably fun diversion, or would be if it was slightly less annoying (see below)...

There were two main things about the gameplay that annoyed me:

1. Once a roach is at the edge of the level, it's basically a matter of luck whether you complete the level or not. All you can do is switch off all the lights and pray that it wanders far enough inwards quickly enough. Both times I played I died on level 3 because one measly roach managed to thwart me for an entire minute! Perhaps the lights should be just outside the playing field - that would make it less tedious. Also a lot easier, but that could be compensated for with more intricate level design.

2. There's no way to skip ahead through levels you've already completed. I would have had another go at level 3, but having to go through levels 1 and 2 yet again put me off.

Clicks don't seem to be registered very easily. Sometimes I'd think that I'd clicked a light but nothing happened. Maybe the hitbox is too small? And I'd like to be able to click through the text screens faster - waiting for the fade to slowly finish is a slight irritant that gets more and more annoying the more I sit through it. :)

You also misspelled "their" as "thier", by the way.
