Yay for Subsoap it is number two and three when you do a google search for "Quality computer games" link (http://www.google.com/search?q=quality+computer+games&btnG=Search&hl=en&lr=&safe=off) Now if only more people cared about having quality in their computer games?

It is sort of hard to find valid content that you can inject into your site so as to improve your rankings... So do what you can. Write your heart out, and make a better site! (Also bribe people into linking back to you with free games! :D)

Make your site search engine friendly by doing the following things:

1) Include the five best keywords in the title of every page. You can vary the wording and keywords from page to page.

2) Include the fifteen best keywords in the keywords metatag on every page. Include common misspellings and include your domain name as keywords.

3) Include the five best keywords in the description metatag on every page. Include your domain name in the description, perhaps at the end.

4) Include the five best keywords near the top of the text of every page, such as in a page banner.

5) Add your site description as the image alternate text for every significant image on every page. Vary the wording of the alternate text from image to image in order to include additional keywords and phrases.

6) Provide a site map page with links to every page in your site. Link to your site map from your home page.

7) Try to get as many different sites as possible to link to your home page. Email the webmasters and ask them to link to you. These sites may include the local chamber of commerce, trade associations, and enthusiast groups.

Doing these things will help you get good rankings. Be aware that it may take two months to show up in the rankings. Don't resubmit more often than once per month.

What kind of keywords do people look up and end up on your site with?

Having useful, free content on your site, not necessarily related to your game, but where you also have the same metatags for drawing people to download your demos, is also very helpful for search engine rankings. (people link to your pages without bribing :))

I haven’t actually done much optimization for search engines so I don't have any set keywords, but as you can imagine I'm going to try and target at least the top five sets of keywords when people go to download games.

For instance when people search for computer games, they may also choose to search for..
computer game
computer strategy game
or play free computer game (so in the website I would maybe ask the question, “Would you like to play a free computer game?” or “How long ago since you sat down to play a free computer game” don’t worry about the ‘a’ Google omits it anyway! This is why you see weird searches that make you think people are sort of dull... when really it's just the search engine, so DO NOT think you have to have things word for word, just be sure to keep it sort of the same each time.)

Free content and lots of it is a must. The first kind of content that you want is the kind of content that is very rich in the keywords you are targeting - while the other kind is the kind people actually feel is useful! If you can make just one, or lots of one kind that mixes these two needs then chances are you have it made.

I'm going to be targeting the interests of people who play on pogo.com (a lot of old guys and gals interests - no offence intended! :D), but also at the same time I will try and target people who like things such as Anime or purchase things at Hotopic.com (or the real stores - these are kids, or adults who haven’t yet grown up/never will! :D)

I'll be sure to share what I come up with, and how well I do(or not!) with the community.

(besides others, the only keywords people have used to get to my site are "quality computer games" and that was about 5 people!! So I really have some work to do!)
