Just got this from Game Connection and thought it may be of interest to some of you. GC is a great place to meet publishers (and other developers).

New!
Level Up Program

Are you part of a new company in the game industry with great ambition but limited means? Do you have a fantastic game or service to sell but haven’t found a buyer yet?

This is your chance to move to the next level!

Game Connection is launching Level Up, a new program to help developers and service providers just like you. Five selected new companies will get free access (a value of € 3,000) to the Game Connection Europe and get the opportunity to present their game or service to some of the greatest buyers including: Activision, Capcom, Microsoft, Lucas Arts, Namco, Nintendo, Sega, THQ, Ubisoft, and Vivendi Games. This year, the Game Connection will take place
December 4-6, in Lyon, France.

Criteria to be eligible:
- The company must be less than two years old
- The company must be independent
- The company must not have previously attended Game Connection

Innovation
The Game Connection Advisory Board will select the five companies based on one main criterion: Innovation. What makes your game/services original and innovative? How can it help the whole video game industry evolve? Being innovative involves out-of-the-box thinking, a better understanding of the industry’s needs, and much larger risk-taking.

The selection will be done in two steps. Following the pre-selection, the semi-finalists will be asked to provide samples of their work.

Participants can fill the application online on the Game Connection website.
Apply Now. Deadline to enter: October 1, 2007.

If you know anyone who might be interested in this program, please spread to word.

For additional information, please visit our website at:

Reminder
This program is not for you? There is only one month left to register to as an exhibitor for Game Connection Europe.
Register Now! Deadline: October 12, 2007

Pretty lofty goals for a 3k prize.

Anyone been to this event by the way. Just wondered what the format was and wether it would work out for indies.

I've done GC before and it's really good. Behemoth found them rather useful I believe, and we signed Boulder Dash a a result of Game Connection.

For those of you with a genuine interest in the commercial world on console in particular - XBLA et al - then you really should push to go. There's almost nowhere else you can get in a private room with all the right people.

If anyone is interested, PM me and I'll tell you more.
