Title: JUNIOR PRODUCTION ASSISTANT

Starting Date: Immediate
Salary: £12-15k

Job Description:
The production assistant is an entry-level position for those relatively new to the game industry. Applicants will be expected to perform a variety of support roles across a range of projects, in particular writing for the Tuna Snax website and performing QA tests on internal projects.

Applicants must have a strong interest in independent and casual gaming, and pop culture in general, as well as a wish to pursue a career within the game development sector.

The work will be divided into two main areas: Tuna Snax and Game Production.

Tuna Snax:
- Writing intelligent, well researched articles on independent gaming and pop culture in general
- Keeping up to date with forthcoming indie/casual games and their developers
- Taking part in Internet discussion forums

Game Production:
- Performing application tests on a variety of platforms, mobile phone included
- Creating documentation such as game walk-throughs and interface designs
- Miscellaneous production duties

Qualifications Required:
- 5 GCSE’s including English and Maths at Grade C or above

Qualifications Preferred:
- Game Development, Management or Media related degree

Preferred Experience:
- Writing experience for online Blogs or websites
- Professional game industry QA experience

Required Skills:
- Excellent communication skills, both in person and by electronic means
- Excellent written skills – intelligent and creative writing is required
- Strong interpersonal skills, including a professional approach to dealing with website users and customers
- Self-motivated at all times
- Strong organization skills, with the ability to follow instructions well, good multi-tasking abilities, and attention to detail.
- Interest in and knowledge of independent and casual games, predominantly on PC but also on XBox Live Arcade.
- Strong awareness of game and social networking sites such as GameZebo, GameTunnel, PennyArcade, JayIsGames, Newgrounds, Digg, Facebook, and so on.
- Interest in gadgets, films, toys, and all things pop culture
- Microsoft Office/Open Office skills (Word, Excel)

Desirable Skills:
- Game design, level design and game balancing experience
- Graphic design abilities (Flash, Photoshop)
- Flash scripting experience

Portfolio:
- Example written work
- Any games worked on, for interest or as part of degree course
- Example game or level designs

Not a gig, its a recording studio. I guess that gets you out of it on this occasion. :p

Hi Alex,

Loving the new site !!!

Maybe one day we will see Dyno Kid Adventures on there?

DKA is a new game I'm developing thats using Dyno kid game mechanics and puzzles along with wonderland type graphics for a new Puzzle adventure game.

Also in development is a Wii style brain academy type game for portals (this is looking very promising)
