Does anyone here know Redwood Interactive? I strongly recommend NOT to work with this Indian company:
we were contacted by them with the offer to license two of our games. We signed the licensing agreement, and sent them the game builds along with the invoice. For a few days we had been receiving the e-mails with the apologies for payment delay... Finally another person (or the same with diffrent name and e-mail address?) sent us an e-mail notifying that the previous producer was fired and they do not need our games any longer.. No need to say we had never received any fee..
That was really frustrating as we had spent time and efforts preparing builds for them..
Please, if anyone has ever dealt with them, post your experience here. And NEVER work with them!

I've recently come back to PC casual games development in 2007 after a long stint in mobile games development land where this practice is common place amongst many distros and partners when it comes to payment time.
I am sorry to read that this sort of thing is still going on in PC land too - what a shame that there are idiots like this in business to make life difficult for the creative people amongst us - jeez it never ends does it! :/

Yeah :)
For some reason I used to trust business partners. I was so naive to believe in honesty regarding this industry..
But what I like here is that everybody is ready to help. Thanks to you all for it guys! :)
So I would suggest to add this publisher to as many black lists as you know.
We should always be very watchful..

These are advices I've gathered on these very forums:
Before working with a new and unknown partner you should always ask for some references. If they refuse to give some names then you can walk away without regret.
If you were given some names, then kindly contact these companies and ask them if working with XXX was a good experience.
You can also ask the question here in the forums. You may have seen such threads here.
Asking for references is a very common practice in every kind of business.
