From the site:

In addition to printed materials, the Casual Games Association hosts three yearly conferences and regular networking socials with over 4,000 attendees yearly. Below are slides and podcasts which can be played on your computer or iPod.

The presentations are listed by subsection in suggested listening order inside of each section, but listen to them all - they are all good!

Articles include:
Putting The Brand into Interactive - Jamie Monberg
Casual Characters - Story, Character & Play - Kenny Dinkin
Creating Using and Protecting IP- Eric Lamendola
Secrets of Casual Game Development - David Dunham

etc. etc.

Hear about this from Raph Koster: http://www.raphkoster.com/2007/08/16/casual-connect-session-materials-posted/

If this is a repeat just smack me around a bit.

Great!

I hope they continue doing the podcasts for other casual connect events.

My favorite 2 talks where definitely the ones about innovation, although I was surprised there was no mention of easing players into innovative portions of the game by using a familiar theme or core mechanic and then branching out from there.

Secrets of Casual Game Dev was very interesting as well, although the presenter seemed a tad bit nervous

Wow, it's fantastic that CGA is willing to share this for free. A great resource.

But.. there are a couple incorrect links and one corrupt file that I noticed.

Save a Tree Design Without Paperwork (wrong link)
Free Play, Item Buy Games (incomplete file)
Future of Casual Games (wrong link)

Maybe someone will see this and correct those. But definitely a wonderful source of info and ideas.

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to let you know that we have put up all the magazine articles in .html format - in addition to the .pdf so it is easier to read.

Google hasn't indexed them all yet - but soon it will be very easy to search etc. There are over 100 articles & lectures here ... so have fun reading!

If you aren't a member of the Casual Games Association - and so you do not get your magazine in the postal mail - you can find the latest edition on the right side bar on the content page.

There is also a good article here about demo quality & sales written by the XBLA port mgr, I was thinking you would find it interesting: http://www.casualconnect.org/newscontent/01-2008/Making_Better_Demos_Equals_Better_Sales_Who_Would_ Have_Thought.html

[ oh, and let us know if you find any bugs, we just uploaded all of these ;) ]
