This was coppied off Brigthhand, though I did get permission from the admin before cross-posting it. I feel I should point out, though, that I ran the installer on my X51v and consistantly it's locked up at the unpacking stage (download, then unpack/install) so... (will update this thread if I can get it working, if anyone else can get it to work, pls share your settings!) Now, without Further Adue:

Ok, I got the thing to install. Only took about 4 hours (which is good considering its a 1gb game)

First: if you decide to try this game, INSTALL IT TO YOUR STORAGE CARD, if you dont it will crash every time @ 50% because it will try to install 1gb of data to your axim's main memory...

Second: be sure you sign up, this is a BETA and just makign an account on the site does not get you in, you have to acctualyl apply. Keep

Third: again, this is BETA so it's not finished, there a LOTS of features to add, so dont expect a cut and polished gemstone, this is more a very prety rough, raw, gem.

Now. review time!

I've not had but about 30 minutes experiance with the game, but so far I can say this, the graphics look like soethign out of a PS1 game (which is prety good for a PPC!) the gameplay is 100% mouse-driven (tap-criven) you tap to run, you tap an item or NPC to target it and use a skill, weapon, etc. you tap another player to sent a /tell (private text) The speed of the game is very good, considering it's size (I cant even get this kind of speed from an old NES emulator!) I experiance ZERO lagg in 30 minutes, and I was only getting 2/5 bars on my wifi.

One very interesting feature is that you can download the game on your PPC/SP and paly it there, then, go on your desktop and log in to the same character and resume where you left off! This is very important when you come accross hard-to-reach areas on the PPC screen (so far I've nto had this but I saw a lot of these complains in the forum). it also means that if you get very dedicated, you can paly the game on your PC while your PPC is charging!

I reached level 4 in about 30 minutes, but it gets progressivly harder. Every level you get makes you get less experiance from your current enimies, as well as extends the experiance bar (lvl 1 monster is a spider, at lvl 1 you get 90 experiance, lvl 2 you get 80, lvl 3 you get 70, etc)

The icons do not make the game any easier, and the 1-shot in-game help requires you to stop and read, which we all know is a BAD thing to do in a MMORPG. This almost cost me a life; especially since I played a mage, and mages, using brute force, hit with 1hp damage --- though the lvl 1 spell hits with 5! which brings me to the next point, the magic system increases damage with your level, though the damage is random (you will still hit a 5 at lvl 4, even if your max hit is 8)

The quest system is simple, tap a NPC, a text-screen appears, you choose "accept" or "ignore" the first quest is to kill 11 spiders, they are kept track of for you at the top of the screen. Though you can, of course, keep on killign spiders long after your 11 are dead. You then return, tap the NPC again, and choose "complete quest".

The map system is the worst "feature" if you EVER zoom out, you're SOL. the dot which displays your location only appears at the closest zoom level, and when you zoom out, you have to guess where you are (unless you have played enough to know the lay of the land, which I have not so far)

In closing, if you're looking for a PPC version of Everquest/WoW/AA/etc, your looking in the wrong place and will be sorely dissapointed if you hold it up to those standards. However, take into consideriation that this is a MMORPG on a POCKETPC and you'll be blown away by how well it runs and how in-depth it is (again, remember, this is a PPC, not a 3ghz dekstop).

Ratings:
Graphics: 4/5
Could be better, but with this being a PPC, they're very nice for the hardware
Sound: 4/5
Sounds are a little fuzzy and can get very annoying after a while, but you can turn them off.
Gameplay: 3/5
Awkward at points very simple, 4 clicks at most to accomplish any major task.
Difficulty: NA
It's a MMORPG, it's going to get progressivly more difficult as you play.
Interface: 3/5
Needs a lot of improvement, very confusing to a new player

Overall:
4/5
room for improvement, but for a PPC game, much less a MMORPG, I'm very impressed. While Everquest this is not, it's far more advanced and well-programemd than anythign Iv'e seen to date for a PocketPC!
