My new game is out, as well as my new indie site:

I'll appreciate all feedback, on the game as well as on the site.

I like the game. Simple, yet seems to have potential for real depth. (flight paths, buying planets/buildings, etc.)

I know Strange Adventures in Infinite Space was very well recieved, but I was a little underwhelmed with it. My personal opinion is that this game is a little more interesting. (although that opinion is only based on the trial versions of both games.)

Game seems to play nicely - but... as a graphic artist the look and feel is very important to me and the current graphics don't seem to do anything for the mood / atmosphere of the game .

The button approach is very "plastic" and plain and imho. way to colourfull for a trading simulation. It seems to have a lot of potential and depth.

Btw. same goes for the website - it lacks a more professional approach.

Thanks! That's quite a compliment :)

Eh, programmer's art. I got myself a few Gimp scripts working and I couldn't escape the plastic buttons for the last four or five games :) I know I have to solve this, one way or the other.

Same thing I went thru early on, and my game got the same reaction (my Interstellar Trader game).

You have two choices: learn the graphic programs and art (at least as much as you can) so that your games look better, or hire someone who can do it. I basically did both: I can use Photoshop for smaller art pieces, and 3D Studio/Bryce a little bit for some 3D artwork, and hired someone for the huge fancy art pieces. My games greatly improved in appearance after that. :)

If you have a little budget for it at some point, contact me and i'd be glad to help you out with some art for your game and some art direction/GUI work.

Thanks for your offer! Your game looks very good, I'd love for Orbital to look that as well. It will have to wait a bit though until I get the site going and the Mac ports.
