just got some warez related spam to an address that I only EVER used to sign up to myzips.com as a developer.
So if you don't want your email address sold to spammers I'd avoid that site if I were you.

it's quite good having a domain. When signing up for stuff I tend to put something like myzips@bigfizz.com and so on. Easy to track who is actually using your emails for nefarious uses. grrr....

I do that too, but there are even more nefarious spammers who take advantage of catch-all email accounts by sending emails to some_random_characters@yourdomain.com. I haven't found a way around this yet, short of creating each user account/forward individually.

At least you don't have it quite as bad as Bill Gates. (http://www.news.com.au/common/story_page/0,4057,11428244%255E1702,00.html) Though he does have some help dealing with it! :D

I once had someone contact me angry that his twilightgames@ whatever address was used for spam. But of course I dont sell or share email addresses at all. I'm still not sure how it happened, but I think it's safe to say that simply getting some spam etc.. on that email address is not a guarantee that myzips is selling/sharing your email. There are other ways like viruses, alphabetic/dictionary mailers and so on.

N1 way to kill your mailbox is to subscribe to a mailing list :)
