Scope of the Work:
Manage the development process for one game project, or sometimes multiple game projects simultaneously. Supervise teams of programmers, artists, designers, writers, audio engineers, and other developers. Ensure that the project meets schedule and budget goals, while delivering high-quality game play.
Job Description:
Assume a leadership role in projects, directing the team members (programmers, artists, designers, etc.) on a daily basis. Communicate regularly with other departments, including marketing, QA, and operations, ensuring that their contributions are coordinated with the project teams. Communicate regularly with the client/publisher, to keep them aware of project progress and potential roadblocks.
Manage all team members on a daily basis, keeping them working effectively, efficiently, and enthusiastically to meet the project goals.
Maintain a clear and cohesive vision for the product, and ensure that all team efforts are focused on that same vision
Develop and maintain an accurate project schedule and budget. Be aware as quickly as possible when changing circumstances will impact schedule or budget.
Act as internal product champion, coordinate use of other internal resources (marketing, QA, customer service, operations) needed for the project.
Provide editorial guidance on all aspects of game design, playability, art, audio, and technology
Represent the project and the team to publishers, press, customers, and other outside contacts.
Track actual delivery schedule versus predicted schedule. Analyze for flaws and mistaken assumptions.
Maintain awareness of competitive products. Analyze their market strengths and weaknesses compared to the current projects.
Required Qualifications:
Previous experience in production roles on other published games.
Leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and persuade not only direct reports but also peers, upper management, and external contacts.
Strong organizational and administrative skills.
Exceptional communications skills, both written and verbal.
Understanding and appreciation of the design, art, animation, audio, and technological components of entertainment products.
An intricate understanding of the natural trade-offs and creative solutions required for successful development of entertainment products.
Experience with Viso, Excel and Project required
