This was a game that I was looking forward to playing since I read the preview over on gamezebo. I've been checking the site diligently waiting for it to be released. I typically like the games from Sandlotgames. I surprised myself by liking Burger Rush and Stand O' Food as well as the more typical Diner Dash style games but for some reason Burger Island doesn't work for me. I didn't find it fun, it was nothing I hadn't played before for free on the web and I just found it a bit dull. The plot's was boring and has been done many times before and whilst I'm sure it was meant tongue in cheek it was one of the first things that put me off of the game. I'm fed up of Jane Doe and her always wanting to run some service industry thing and so she does it and yawn I wish the stories were more exciting. The gameplay whilst different missed out one of the aspects I liked about that sort of game which was seeing the actual customers. There's something far more personal about seeing someone get more angry because you haven't served them quickly enough as opposed to just a meter on a tray. I soon got bored of filling those trays with food and closed the game off. For years I've played those sort of games using links provided over on the geek forums so I really expected to like Burger Island. I didn't. Maybe that sort of game's just run its course with me and I'm ready to move onto other things.

I'm sure that it'll be a big hit though. It seems to have all the elements needed to make it big. It's just not the game for me.

Oh yes and Pierre drove me nuts. I loathed him. I loathed his mumbling in words I couldn't quite understand. I just loathed him on the same level that I loathe the microsoft paperclip. In fact I'd have liked to stab him to death with that paperclip. I really, really didn't like him which didn't endear me at all to the game.
