Hola. Has anyone worked with (or seen, heard of, imagined, envisioned) any indie-friendly musicians who make use of vocals in their compositions? We're looking to contract out some music for a small, upcoming project, and while there seem to be many talented musicians who post here, most tend towards instrumentals.

Thanks.

I have produced music with vocals (mainly dance acts but a song to our latest game Temple Of Tangram has also vocals included...)!

You can download the song here: http://www.intermediaware.com/tangram/sfx/TempleOfLove.MP3

Nikolas Sideris (http://nikolas-sideris.com/) has done some amazing stuff for the The Forgotten Element (http://www.theforgottenelement.com) soundtrack, with vocals.

He's extremely indie-friendly, and his work is incredible.

Hey Dan!

Thanks for the kind words mate :)

Ahem, Micehead, could you be more specific about what you're after? Cause vocals can be classical, R&B, industrial, yelling, ballads, whatever really. Ethnic maybe? ;)

Either way I'm definately interested. :)

(for example :http://www.nikolas-sideris.com/cgempire/TFE.mp3, as mentioned before... But classical towards a LOTR style)

Thanks, all! :) For this project, we're looking for roughly eight tracks, mostly upbeat, fun, perhaps in J-pop (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/J-pop) style. I'd like to give a listen to what y'all have posted, but if you'd like to drop me an e-mail, feel free to contact me directly at http://www.synthscribe.com/media/email.png.

My last game Gunstorm II had a theme song (ie. with vocals). If you have the means then there's no reason it shouldn't be done (unless you're worried about the language factor). I've written lots of songs in the past few years so the writing part wasn't more difficult than a tune without vocals.

Aaron Walz does this as well. He has both male and female singers. His troup can also do live instruments if you want. Here is his site: http://www.walzmusic.com/

When I worked with Greg Nicolett he mentioned that he could do vocals. The orchestral work he did for me was top notch.
