View Full Version : Immersion in a subversion diversion

Hi all,

Be patient with me. I'm not sure I even know enough to ask the right questions.

I have subversion installed on my server. I use TortoiseSVN to connect to it. At the moment, I'm not using SSH because I want to get it to work at all, and don't need the extra layer of complexity.

Committing and Adding to my SVN repository works just fine. I can also browse and download my repositoy manually, by using the repo-browser, clicking on a file, and picking save as.

However, whenever I try to do SVN update, or try to pull down anything more than one file, I get a subversion error that says:
error connection closed unexpectedly

This happens every time-- whether I have it set up to ask for a password or not, whether I use tortoiseplink or not... furthermore, I've had my admin test it locally, and it happens locally too.

Has anyone ever heard of a problem such as this? I could sure use some help!

Thanks,
John

By locally, do you mean the database is on your pc, or your database is on a lan drive you access via a proper network cable ?

I ask as I had an issue once where I was getting errors loading files from our server to my desktop at work that never happened loading remotely from home across t'interweb! I think it was down to windows firewall or somesuch but it was a while ago now.

Hi Applewood,

Locally is physically, right on the machine in question. But it doesn't work remotely either.
