This is my take on the classic sokoban games...
The game is called: Spherical: a new challenge, I've managed to get it up on Bigfishgames... (the link will be from their site, hope nobody minds provided I've given the direct link below *sorta*) and I'm simply curious to see what more seasoned Indies thought of it. I wasn't really looking for anything special to come of this game, it was more a way to get familiar with the way Indie business works... and a means of breaking into the community in general. With that being said, feel free to rip it appart, say what you like, all c&c welcome :)

System Requirements:
Windows 2000/XP/Vista
DirectX 9.0a or greater
Pentium 600 or better
256MB RAM

That's a good thing.

Not that it's not a nice little game, it's just not the kind of thing that's selling well on the portals right now.

Plays good, and gratz on getting it on to portals, my sokoban game which, no offence, had bigger production values didn't make it.

I like the mouse control and I think thats how it made it, its more casual friendly that way than the traditional 'move ya guy around with the cursors' method.

Keep us upto date, I'd very much like to see how this does. :D

I have to agree... the game mechanic was probably it's biggest selling point.
If you have your own sokoban game up someplace, I'm interested in giving it a try; I'd like to see your better production value :D
plus I'm simply a fan of sokoban in general.

I just played the game. Some points of criticism:

I don't like the font, I have to concentrate too much to read it.
I didn't manage to change the player name (I just gave up, probably having a lot more patience than the average casual gamer).
After starting the game for the first time, I had to go back to the menu to get some help. There should be an in-game tutorial or something.
The help had too much text, after reading half of the first explanation, I just pressed the next button (after I found it), just to look at the screenshots, but they didn't help me a lot. After all I turned out going back to the game and trying it out myself (the screenshots in the help did give me some hints on where to click and the little explanation I read there gave me the clue to push the balls on the right spot.
Because I know sokoban, the controls felt somehow confusing, I rather expected to click where my character -- the yellow ball -- should move. Maybe this isn't an issue, I didn't play enough levels to know that.

I didn't play a lot of levels, but that's my first impression (and a lot of potential customers decide on their frist impression). Maybe later I'll post more here about the gameplay.
