I'm looking for artists to aid in the completion of my first commercial release. Your work will not be needed for another month or two.

This game is intended to be launched on portals, and the quality of the art must reflect that. I'm trying to make this game as professional as possible from all angles-- this will help to create a great, fun game and it will help to generate sales. If you can demonstrate quality on par with games like Virtual Villagers and other casual chart-toppers, your help is requested. Interested parties: contact me (e-mail address below). Very interested parties: contact me and see a build of the game.

Positions open

2D Monster/Tower sprite artists (one or more artists needed):

estimated 10 hours of work per week, more if you can handle it
work on your own schedule -- deadlines flexible.
will draw images of towers (around 64x64 pixels)
will draw images of monsters (around 64x64 pixels, 3 frames of animation in 4 directions = 12 images total)
the game is divided into about six "campaigns," -- campaigns will be divided among artists. Each campaign will have a number of monsters and towers to draw. Some monsters/towers will be "upgraded" versions of previous monsters/towers, so not all will be drawn from scratch.
also needed to draw a few other things (backgrounds, for example)

GUI artists (one or more needed)

work starts as soon as you're ready.
estimated total of less than 40 hours, spanning up to a few months.
this is a straightforward position. You'd need to draw a quality interface (this is a single 800x600 bitmap) to replace the blue interface in this screenshot: link (http://josh1billion.prophp.org/img/td_screen3.png). The interface must be on par with the quality of top-ranking casual games.
various other GUI-related images will be needed, such as a replacement for the blue tooltip box in the above screenshot.

Background artists

see the game Grimm's Hatchery-- the backgrounds in the farms are exactly the type of backgrounds I'm looking for. Grass, dirt paths, perhaps some trees, some buildings where appropriate -- these are all what I'm looking for. Each background will consist of a single bitmap, somewhere around 500x500 to 1000x1000 pixels in size, varying per campaign. About six backgrounds will be needed (one for each campaign).

Please include samples of your work, especially those similar to what I'm looking for. Also, remember to tell me which category of art you're interested in working on (Monsters, Towers, GUI, Backgrounds-- possibly a combination of some, or all categories).

If you want people to work speculatively, I'm thinking you need to remove that "until you've been paid" bit.

If I was to work like that, I'd want an equal share in perpetuity, same as you get. The only variable in these types of agreements is the size of the share (persumably based on contribution), not the duration of it. If you can find anyone willing to go with your offer, he'll probably not be up to delivering

In fact, the whole post is exactly the sort of thing that is expressly forbidden by the forum rules, and for good reason.

I've revised my post, due to complaints by non-interested parties about payment details, to allow for more flexibility. Payment methods, amount of payment for work (salaries), etc. will be negotiated with individual workers so that everyone can be happy.

Potential candidates: contact me if you're qualified, with resume and/or examples of previous work attached, and we will begin negotiations. I've already been contacted by interested parties, so send your applications as soon as possible.

I changed the original post somewhat to add more detail on some categories and also to update the contact info.
