Game Tunnel's round-up for April is up. We reviewed 10 games, posted the reviews on 9 of them and scored 8 of them.
Most amazing game this month is Hard Time. Scores were 3, 6, 8, 10. I've never seen such a big discrepency in the scores in the 3 years of the panel.
Also, the panel welcomes Cas! Thanks for all the people who made the panel possible including those who submitted games and of course the panel members who took time out of their busy schedule to play and score all the games :).

Mention it everywhere you go!

Wow, I guess MDickie got some big fans this time! I stand by "unplayable". It was like it was good, except for how it was utterly impossible to play. If the conversations hadn't been showstoppers, and the simulation had been implemented in some way such that it wasn't a complete madhouse of totally random behavior, and maybe if the fights weren't insane muddles of 10 guys at once (I accidently picked up a screwdriver I never saw and stabbed a man to death in the middle of one melee... oops! Good thing it only added 2 days to my sentence!)... then it would be downright awesome. I liked how that murder got his gang mad at me and got some other guys backing me. So there's obviously SOME functionality in there, and it could've been really cool. I laughed hard when an inmate shot a baseball bat into the hoop, though.
I like Russ's Villagers review. That expresses just what I noticed but didn't think to or know how to say. You really have to keep on your villagers to stay alive in this one, and it's not as nice as the first. I did like all the new stuff, but two entire tribes died before I got to see much of it (both times because VV does not permit sleeping! Okay, I had it at x2 speed...).

I'm actually a fan of MDickie. I don't like his graphic style at all and I hate wrestling but I admire his personality and idiosyncrasy and love his site. It's good to see one of his games get a 10.

Just for fun:
One Year ago:
Titan Attacks was Game of the Month, both it and Steam Brigade got Gold Awards, Garden Dreams & Phoenicas got Silver Awards
Two Years ago:
In a month that we have been FOREVER been mis-judged by, 6 games received the Gold Award and 3 received Silver Awards. (so yeah, nearly every game got an award...but it was a dang good month...and abnormal!)
Golds - Oasis, Clash'N'Slash, Supremacy: Four Paths to Power, Tribal Trouble, DROD: Journey to Rooted Hold, Glow Worm
Silvers - Deadhunt, Snowy: Treasure Hunter, Democracy (it was an EARLY version!)
(4 of the games from April 2005 were in the Top 10 list at the end of the year)
Three Years ago:
With IndieGamer moving away from their somewhat monthly look at Indie games released, and the change of IG from a review site to a forum, I started asking around to see if GT might be able to run a similar feature. (the first one was in June, which means next month's round-up will complete 3 years of round-ups...I estimate that we've covered close to 400 games in that period of time  )

I think there's 1 more month of discrepancy though, since the dates were pushed ahead a month in January 2006. So 2 months, and it's 3 years old.
But still, very nice. 3 more on top of that and I've no longer been involved in half of them. :)

Yeah, I think you're right. Though some of those months, like when we did 24 games for the October 2004 round-up, should have counted for 2!
Wow. I forgot that we did that many in 1 month. I must have been really late. ;)

I enjoyed reading this round-up. I was especially interested in Grimm's Hatchery review. It's surprising that this game got only 7 points from reviewers, though it got probably 10 from casual players (#1 at BFG).
Anyway, hope to see one day my game in round-up ;)
best
Roman
I was surprised by the 7 review as well, given that each reviewer had mostly negative comments on the game.
