Welcome to my project Blumenmacht! I have worked on the game over the last two years. Hopefully you can feel some of the love and enthusiasm that went into Blumenmacht. I'm looking forward to hear your opinions! You can download my game here (http://www.gamedev.net/community/gds/viewentry.asp?projectid=414757)!

Blumenmacht is a unique mixture of shoot'em up and memory gameplay. The nonviolent game comes with a colourful flower power theme and is controlled only with the mouse. You can play nine levels on three different difficulty settings.

In Blumenmacht Ballerinas are joining a flowerpower pogo dance. You are in control of the Ballerina who takes the leading part. She is the Prima Ballerina.
To win a dance your Prima Ballerina has to throw flowers at the other Ballerinas until they are all happy. They try to do the same with your Prima Ballerina. But if they succeed and your Prima Ballerina is happy, you lost the dance.
During a dance you can always choose which Ballerina should take the leading part of the Prima Ballerina.

Watch a gameplay video here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hsiwvbxu0uQ)!

I love the art style...looks great :). Whats the story behind the name of the game "Blumenmacht"? It's a very strange name. It says min spec XP, I am on Win98SE so I have not downloaded it to give it a try.

Blumenmacht is the german word for "flower power". I know the game runs on Win ME, but I never tried it on Win98SE.

I like the art. The outrageous contrast in colors actually works for the game, though I think some screens are a little too busy and overall I'd probably prefer more of an even palette.

I suggest having a mouse pointer (or maybe another even smaller and cuter cat on a chain) onscreen when spelling the name because it's hard to choose letters without a pointer.

I completed the dancing lesson, but the game crashed as soon as I clicked play on level 1. I'm using Windows XP SP2, 1.6 GHz, 1 GB Ram, ATI Mobility Radeon X1400.

Thanks for your impressions!

I don't know if I understand you right about the mouse pointer. You choose the letters by moving the mouse left and right. The letter the mouse pointer is on is yellow and bigger than the other letters. In the second screenshot above this would be the letter "E". To choose the letter you left click.

For some time I tried to turn Blumenmacht into a game for the casual game market. While the game is much more accessible than at the beginning, I reached a point where I couldn't go further. I wanted the game to be different, weird or quirky. And i planned overstimulation.

I wish I knew why the game crashed on your system. After reading that I downloaded my game, installed it and played it. But it didn't crash (p4 1.8 ghz, 1gb ram, gf6600gt, win xp). Well, I wish it would have crashed so i could start to fight this bug.

I watched the video and I *still* have no idea how the gameplay works... I'll try out the game and see how that goes.

Yeah, I figured it out, but it took a few seconds. It's probably something you get used to quickly, but I only got to do that part once.

I wanted Blumenmacht to be different. But being different is also its biggest disadvantage. You can't just jump in and play it like an ordinary shoot'em up. To become a successfull Blumenmacht player you need your imagination.

These are my two favourite examples to illustrate this:

1) As you can take control of each Ballerina, there are no real enemies in Blumenmacht. Fleeing from a more talented Ballerina is actually a bad idea. Just turn the tables! Left click her and take control of her. Now the advantage is on your side.

2) After you stopped time with a right mouse click catch a Ballerina (hold left mouse key) and move her through flowers to make her happy. This would be as if Neo would move his opponents through bullets while time is slowed down in the matrix. In Blumenmacht this is called "blossom time".

Judging by the screens; the artwork looks pretty cool, very original and colorful. I really like that. I will download the game today and play it.

I tried it out and didn't understand what I had to do in the game. That didn't matter since I really liked flying around, spelling some letters and watching those graphical effects especially in the second level. What a colorful trip!
I'm tired now, but tomorrow I'll try to find out how the game mechanic works.
The name "Blumenmacht" is great.

If Blumenmacht crashes, please try the following steps:

1. Browse to the trickster.exe file in the Blumenmacht folder.
2. Right click trickster.exe and click Properties.
3. Click the Compatibility tab.
4. Select the "Run in 256 colors" check box.

Now Blumenmacht should run stable.
